I would ideally prefer to put a 240K pedal box in, but they are so hard to find, and there is currently what seems to be a 1200 pedal box on Ebay, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-Manual-Pedal-Box-/160718155022?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item256b8c6d0e I'm not sure if I should bid or not, but if you think a 180B pedal box is better, maybe I'll wait to find one of those ( or of course a 240K pedal box.)

I was just wondering if anyone knew if a Datsun 1200 Manual Pedal Box would be suitable for a 1974 240K? I'm wanting to convert my Auto to a Manual, and I'm unsure if these pedals will fit. Are the pedal boxes from dirrerent Datsuns compatible? Can they be modified to fit? I don't want to buy them and then realise they don't fit. Any help or advice is appreciated.
  3. Looks like they are coming out of the woodwork now, a Coupe for sale now on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240k-GL-1974-2D-Hardtop-3-SP-Automatic-2-4L-Carb-/200700608736?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item2ebab040e0

Hi Brad, If you were to make the trip up, any chance of grabbing me a manual conversion, haha, or at least the manual pedal box, as I live in Sydney too, I could easily fix you up for them, I'd be keen to see your car as well. Cheers, Costas.
  5. Wow, a 5 digit sale price. Hopefully this means the values of these great cars are finally being recognized.
  6. There is a nice original 1977 sedan for sale in Victoria on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240k-GL-1977-4D-Sedan-3-SP-Automatic-2-4L-Carb-/170759550646?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item27c20ff6b6

Don't you love Sydney weather! Just out of curiosity, what Company will you use to fix the s/s trims? I ask because some of my trims will need repairing and re-polishing, along with my bumpers in the near future.
  9. Looks like Dino is back. If this sells, this could be the new benchmark. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-KHGC110-240K-COUPE-/320806849392?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item4ab1940b70

welcome Terry, You've found the home of the 240K! In regards to your enquiry about yours being a GT, the story goes something like this: when the Datsun 240K was imported to Australia in early 1973 ( in coupe form only ), the first batch was badged as "240K GT", this would of only been a couple of hundred at most, which would of been stamped on their compliance plates. Because of "pressure" from insurance companies and the Government? at the time also because of the fuel crisis, " GT " cars were frowned upon, so Nissan (Datsun here) decided to change the badge of subsequent batches to " GL ". The sedan wasn't sold here till a few years later, so yours is definately a GL. A nice car all the same. a 240K GT has a ID of KPGC110 It's stamped into the firewall Nigel You forgot the " R " on the KPGC110, as this was the code for the Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R model, of which only 197 officially were made.
  12. Did you make him an offer " too good to refuse "?

  15. Yes, I can confirm. He still has the 240K and it is for sale " for the right price ". It looks really good, but I don't think he is actively advertising it for sale.

Mate, that looks awesome, great mirror finish on the paint. Looks like you'll be one of the first of us to finish your K. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Ovenfood, So I'll be on the lookout for a gearbox from either a 240K, 240Z, 260Z or 280ZX.

Hi Guys, Can anyone confirm if a standard 260Z 5 speed manual gearbox will bolt straight up to an L24 engine from a 240K? I want to change from a Auto to Manual gearbox, and am not sure if one of these will fit. Are all the Datsun L series gearboxes compatable, or are there slight variations that I need to know about? I just want to know which gearboxes I could use if I'm keeping the L24 in my 240K. Any help or advice is appreciated. Cheers.

Hey Scott, I'm chasing a manual pedal box as well. If you could grab one for me that would be great. I'm actually chasing a full manual conversion, i.e gearbox, gearshift, gearknob e.t.c, if any of those parts are salvagable. Let me know how to fix you up if you can get those for me. Cheers, Costas.
  21. He's back again, on Ebay this time. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240k-GL-1977-4D-Sedan-3-SP-Automatic-2-4L-Carb-/290628143285?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item43aac988b5

Good to see you are collecting all the bits that were either missing or damaged, from memory the needles for the gauges were missing, if you need a set, let me know as I got a set of gauges from Japan. Out of curiosity, how much were you quoted to soda blast? Cheers.

  24. Yeah, it does seem pretty high for a sedan. I saw that his reserve was $1000, so maybe an inside job. Unless 2 people really wanted it and the price kept going up.
  25. WOW!! Am I dreaming? That's an awesome result. Looks like values are on the way up!
