The height looks about how my 240 did at stock height.. A very 60's early 70's look. I love the British Racing Green and the wire wheels with full height tyres to fill the wheel arches. I saw an Austin Healey over the weekend that had similar colour and wheels. Nice.

Turbo drive?? I guess you mean distributor drive. Yes it is off. Pictures scroll down the page below. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/engine-drivetrain-s30/49738-distributor-ignition-timing-woes.html
  3. Hi from NZ. We have a few right hand drive S30s down here, and as far as right hand drive parts, the only problem that i can think of is if a new dash was needed, or a new steering rack. Perhaps the wiper arms have a different angle to park on the other side. Obviously the body has fittings and holes for pedals etc on the opposite side.. Buying parts.? What are you wanting?
  4. Looks to be sitting at stock height to me. The rear bumper looks pushed in. Good luck.

Top bid $31,500 NZD Reserve was $34500 Given the exchange rate, this cars top bid got to 26,500 USD. Values seem to be rising in NZ probably due to the fact that the 240z is quite a rare car here. Nissan 240Z 1972 | Trade Me

I still have the stock L24 motor, so can't help with an RB swap, but you may be able to use the RB PS pump. I used a Hyundai Lantra PS pump, bolted via an adaptor plate to where the fuel pump used to be on the L24. Fitted an electric fuel pump at the rear near the tank. I fitted a small resevoir for PS oil under the right side inspection lid behind the windscreen washer bottle. My car is right hand drive, so this could be different for yours. I had to modify the crossmember slightly to take the Suburu rack. Nothing too drastic if you are handy with a MIG A worthwhile mod. in my opinion.

No DAFs down here in NZ.
  8. Specs for a 260z front springs is .453 dia. 15 inches free length. Number of turns 10 3/4 inches. Don't know if the 280z is the same.

  10. Just a little Targa from NZ
  11. Springs are easy and safe if you have a couple of spring compressors.
  12. QUOTE=FastWoman;448952]Olzed, I'm not saying there isn't a hazard from a rusty body. Your story about the Mini is sobering, to say the least! But here in the US, rust isn't generally an issue of concern to inspectors, even though it perhaps SHOULD be. Yes Sarah, it sobered me up very quickly. Our vehicles require a six monthly check, costing around $43NZD-$35USD. On top of that is our annual licencing fee of around $280NZD The Warrant Of Fitness inspections are very strict, especially since the introduction of Monocoque construction techniques. I remember as a young guy i had a 1934 Ford V8 Coupe which had 'some' rust issues, but it was passed as safe because those old cars had a chassis. (wish i still had it) Brian.
  13. The authorities obviously have a far more relaxed approach in US than we do here in NZ. That car would not be allowed on the road down here if the rust holes were filled over with bog. I saw the result of a rusted out Morris Mini Tboned by a Toyota Crown. 4 dead. The Mini literally fell apart. The collision was only at about 40 MPH. the top of the car was completly severed from the floor. I realize the Toyota is a much heavier car, but the occupants of the Mini just might have stood a chance if the car had stayed in one piece.
  14. There is no way in the world that car should go back on the street, IMHO, unless it has had a complete rebuild by someone compenent, and had the relevant inspections. These cars rely on every piece of bodyshell to give strength and hold together. It's a fair bet that the rust he can't see is far worse.
  15. Haha. Thanks for the intro Mike. Since i took this video a couple of years ago, i have sectioned one of the carbs, as well as the dizzy cap, and now the spark from the turning rotor is quite visible. She is now running happilly on two pots. Also i have fitted a radiator, which allows it to run for long periods. We are taking it to a show in early Feb. so i hope to get some more video. Brian. PS the little white guy in my avatar is my wifes hobby. Dog shows.

I totally get it. Where i live drivers do 40-45km in 60km zone. Drives me nuts. And drivers texting or dreaming at stop lights, meaning they and two or three other cars get the green.

.Good progress Bart. The wheels look fantastic.
  18. It may be there is already a bush in the shaft. Give it a scratch and see if is brass colour.
  19. It is a good idea to extend the water drain pipes where they exit inside the upper front fenders, so that they take the water to the bottom of the fender. Might save future rust problems in that area.

This sickens me. It is obvious that those idiot lowlife doing the torching have very little in their lives, and it is a fair bet they don't own a car, and have never had to save to buy one.
  21. My God, the bumpers on those are incredible.
  22. Hey Matt. Probably a loose fan belt.

You have a lot of work ahead of you to make anything from that car. You wont get much of a paint job for 2k.
  24. Why go to all that effort and not finish it. Odd!!
  25. Haha. Unfortunately some sucker will believe it.
