Thanks for an insight into your lovely countryside ZLady. I just love the Fall colours, or Autumn as it's known here. Unfortunately where we live, there is not the sudden cold snap to change the colours so dramatically. We have to travel a bit to see what you have shown us.We are just heading into summer and looking forward to club runs and viewing places just like you folk do. The old wagons are of interest. We have museums with the old stage coaches that were run by Cobb and Co back in the late 1800s.
  2. Well thats great. I have an annoying rattle at idle, from the gearleaver area which I think might be a worn spiggot bush in the and of the crankshaft. The noise changes when I depress the clutch pedal. Its been rattling for 10 years so i'm not too concerned, although it's a little annoying.
  3. Carburetors are the way to go then. No more problems
  4. More than 2500 aftershocks, most over 4 and 4 or five ks deep.

We are having trouble contacting companys, concerning copying their logos and decals. We want to be very careful not to infringe on anyones copyright. Has anyone done replica cars without worrying about this aspect, or is it very risky. For example the Shell logo, or Seiko. Thanks, Brian.
  7. Dave. Nice job. On the smoking thing. I started when I was 15. Hell, thats a long time ago. I'm now 66. Anyhow at the age of 51, I suffered a major artery blockage which resulted in a full blown' heart attack' or M.I.After 2 weeks in coronary care, I swore I would never smoke again to stuff up all the good work the doctors and nurses put in to me. And I havn't smoked since. Unfortuately the damage is done, as after prostate surgery 2 years ago I had cardiac arrest, resulting in being fitted with an implanted defibrilator. This thing has brought me back from death on two occasions since. The sooner you can quit the habit the better. You will feel better and have a few more dollars in your pocket. As an added bonus you will live to see grandchildren, or even Great grandchildren, of which I have three. Life is bloody good at the moment. Sorry to get away from the thread. Just thought I would wish you well with the smoking thing. They say there's nothing worse than a reformed smoker, and thats so true. I can smell cig. smoke half a mile away. Brian.
  8. I have been very careful to wipe the water of that area after washing the car. I also have left the sealing rubber strip unglued along the bottom, so I can lift it up and dry under it. There is always water under the rubber after a wash. I use a high powered dog blow drier to blow off the whole car after washing it.

You go girl!!!!!!--- Learn all you can about these neat little cars. They are really quite simple, and it looks like you have scored a nice rust free one, and that is a good place to start.

Thanks Koalia. Thats really great. Is the first picture of Rauno Aaltonens #5 car a reproduction. We have tried to get SEIKO decals/stickers without success. We are not sure if we should copy them, and other decals. Cheers, Brian.

Hi All. Our group are doing up a couple of cars to look like the Nissan Works 1971 Safari rally cars. This was held in Kenya, Nairobi, etc. when of course the 240z took the world on and won. We need pictures of the position of the decals so we can reproduce these. We have searched the net and the best we can see are mostly distant, or angled, or car covered in dirt. Any help with pictures would be most appreciated. Thanks. Brian.

This is a typical Aussie car dealer mouthing off when he doesn't know what he's talking about. :stupid:
  15. That engine bay looks nice. Did you find a 240 motor. How does it feel to be driving from the "correct" side;)

That looks good. Did you put thin foam under the new trim? I had the tops of my 240 inner door trim replaced and put thin foam under the new trim. It makes for a more plush feel.
  17. Pleased you got it right . Retarded timing can make an engine struggle.

Even though your battery is fully charged, you can still get a click from the starter when the solenoid is worn out. The contacts get burnt out.
  19. Stick at it mate. She's lookin not too bad

Yeah. Don't worry mate. We all know what you mean. Sorry I can't help you with your car. Sounds as though the plug wires are mixed up.

Great to see another 240 being saved. good on you Torby.:classic:
  22. I would have loved the door handles, but I'm a bit far away.:classic:
  23. Very annoying!! I have hearing aids for the last 18 months, and now I hear every little squeek or groan, not only from the 240, but also our daily drive late model Toyota. Is this noise being transmitted from another area.? We had a rattle in the Toyota, and it was caused by a pair of sun glasses in the glove box Could it be seat mounts loose? Long shot.
  24. This thing just continues. 2000 Aftershocks to date and counting. Some over 5. Yes thats 2000.
  25. Hell. You guys must be sick of all the crap with stuffed 35 year old injection systems. Let Dave drop on a set of SUs Tyler, and your car will fly.
