  1. Thanks for the info -- My driver side will have a headrest, but the other one wont. I do plan on ordering a set from Japan!
  2. Will do! I still haven't figured out how I will mount them, but we'll find out soon enough!
  3. Picked up a set of original Datsun Competition seats. Will post shortly when I get them mounted
  4. "I eat pieces of sh*t like you for breakfast...." - Shooter "You eat pieces of sh*t for breakfast...?!" - Happy "... n n n n ... NO" - Shooter
  5. If anyone else decides to get this exhaust. I have a MSA 6-1 header that was modified to fit the Fujitsubo
  6. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1877070 This is what is listed on Rock Auto. I've been thinking about purchasing two, but I am not sure if this is the correct item.
  7. Looking forward to seeing them!
  8. Congrats on the pick up! Please keep us updated with your blog!
  9. Wow... I'm amazed. That is one beautiful Z!! I'm lovin' the interior!
  10. Ordering parts from Japan is a possibility. But let it be known, it is darn expensive! I have ordered through both third party auction sites and received aid from friends to bring parts from Yahoo! Auctions Japan over at a hefty price. To give you an idea, my car was missing a windshield wiper rod when I bought it. It took me 6 months to source a simple RHD-specific wiper rod!!
  11. Owning a Fairlady State-side myself, I would say that the cost is not driven up at all. I have been able to get the same parts as any other 240Z. It is definitely a cool factor to have a rarer Z, but in the end its still a 240Z to me The 2+2 is not my cup of tea though. Differences to name a few: Factory Fairlady Z's had lower/stiffer springs from what I understand. Brake Booster/Master + vacuum lines on other side Steering Rack (Crossmember has grooves for both RHD and LHD). Signals and Light Switch on opposite sides (potentially expensive to replace)
  12. RIP to one of the "originals." Met him at the DHM, and he was full of energy even in his state.
  13. Welcome Bob. I was at the event, your car is stunning Hope to see your Z racing at more events to come!
  14. It does not look off to me... I think you have been starring at your Z too long I do it all the time bwahah.
  15. This is actually my blog haha. I am in the midst of getting in contact with G-Works Japan, who makes the Replica Steering Wheels. It is a completely different wheel, but does have the same textures and offset as the factory Comp Wheel. The replica wheel includes new pins as well! Some dealers on Yahoo! Japan Auctions sell it with the factory horn, some do not. I'll keep everyone up to date on this, as there may be a group buy up on Hybrid Z sometime soon!
  16. I have a slight issue with this eBay posting. I, too, saw this eBay listing and was attracted to it. I have a Datsun Compe Steering wheel on my Z now, but wanted a spare. I saw this listing and thought, "Boy, this would be a great chance to purchase this super rare steering wheel." However, I browse Yahoo! Japan Auctions quite a bit and found that there are three types of Datsun Compe Steerings wheels listed. The original, the 10th Anniversary NISMO Edition, and recently a replica steering wheel made by "G-WORKS". The original steering wheel in NOS condition has gone for more than $800 USD, and the 10th Anniversary NISMO Edition auctions usually end at around $600+ USD. The newly created replica has gone for around 31,000 Yen (around $400 USD). Then I saw this eBay listing from Datsun Spirit Inc. I thought immediately to myself, there could be no way this is an original NOS steering wheel (he has two listed for sale). I e-mailed the seller of the TWO steering wheels and asked if they were "the original 70's NOS piece or the 10th Anniversary edition." I received a reply that only stated "not the 70s wheel." No mention in regards to if they are the 10th Anniv. Edition or not. From observation of the many 10th Anniversary NISMO Editions on sale through Yahoo! Auctions Japan, I noticed almost 95% of them included the original NISMO box. This may be because when they came out in 1996 (date?), Nissan fans bought them all up, and never really put them on. In the picture of the eBay listing you can see some plastic wrapping, but no box. I recall seeing this wrapping in pictures of the replica steering wheel. I e-mailed the seller again, with a reply that there is no box available. TWO "NOS" 10th Anniv. Steering wheels, with no original NISMO box. The chances of a collector storing these wheels, never using them, but oddly deciding to throw the box away, IMHO, is not likely. Also, eBay's description of "Condition: NEW," which this seller has listed the item as, is "New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. See the seller's listing for full details..." I believe these are infact the replica $400 USD wheels on sale for $680 shipped through eBay. I may be wrong, but Datsun Spirit has been in the grey area of CZCC lately after posting non-matching headlight covers, without disclosing. I am not judging whether the sale is "fair" or not, but I definitely think it should disclosed if they are replicas. If Datsun Spirit wants to chime in and state they are guarenteed 10th Anniv. ORIGINAL Nissan parts, I will gladly eat my words SEE THE REPLICAS HERE: http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t214717028
  17. Great pictures of the Z, and it truly was an excellent last two weeks to take the Z out
  18. Yeah... the seller should have been a bit more descriptive in the history or significance of the car. It looks like they took the time to provide pictures with awards, magazine covers, etc. It's silly to think that someone would not put very much needed information to justify their price.
  19. I know some people were looking for one... so here is one I just found on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-fairlady-1973-datsun-240-Z-fairlady-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3cbaf6a49dQQitemZ260834763933QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks Very high price at $25,000 Reserve Not Met. But not an unreasonable since in Japan they do trade hands for this much. I am not affiliated with the seller at all.
  20. Amazing what awesome parts you can find at junkyards =) I cannot believe you went under a junkyard car though! I hope you had stands with you.
  21. Looks very promising! I wonder if they will ship to the US
