Wow, I purchased two of these posters less than a year ago...(in the #1100 range) for $75.00 each. Now they sell for $500.... Now if our Z cars would go up in value like the posters have...
  2. My daily driver is an 05 Armada, I drive my BRE Z replica, Bob Sharp 67.5 2000 Racing Roadster at the track and I am working on restoring a B sedan 510 racer. My wife drives an 05 Mini Cooper S.

Wow, I bet. Looks like one of my "long lost relatives" is racing a roadster too. It runs in the family i guess...lolz. I am sure your hi-res photos are awesome! I am sooo jealous!

JMARK Great Photos! Do you have any information on the two roadsters listed above? Thanks, Ron

No, gonna stay with a roll bar cam...got enough stuff to worry about including a Hans device and getting strapped into the car. a helmet cam is just too much....

Yeah, I am working on the vibration thing...this was the first time out with the video camera and there are some things we can do to stabilize it a bit more. hopefully it will look better next time. R

Craig here is the photo finish at Fontana. It's very short. I beat out Hector and his Z by 100th of a second at the line. It was a great race and Hector is a great competitor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isqDH4UrViI

Since you brought up the subject, here is my Datsun Roadster at Fontana about three weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sr2ePl0OD0
  10. If you are 6' 4" you will fit in a Mini Cooper.... I bought my wife a Cooper S and it is a fun little car. Fast, good gearing, and supercharged.... Now If I can only get one of those Ariel Atoms....
  11. I would suggest that you do some research on this site. This has been discussed several times in the past. That being said, I would suggest that you look at an N42 or a P90
  12. looked like you were having fun. Your gearbox and possibly your rear end gears were not set to run that track...as demonstrated by that yellow 510. I have to get up there with my 2000 roadster....I can go after that little bugeye sprite and teach him a thing or two about racing Datsuns R
  13. Chris that is very nice. All our thoughts go out to his family.
  14. My suggestion at this point would be to call them and see what you think.
  15. Rebello is known for building very fast ITS motors from back in the day. they still build a solid street motor, I know Dave Rebello and have friends who have motors from them. I think they can be a little pricey and depending on what you are looking for, their might be some better options locally. I have been to top end and have seen positive and negative posts on this site. I would be a little wary of them, only from what I have read and not from personal experience. I trust John Coffey's advice and I have had good luck with Les Cannaday...hope that helps.
  16. best way to spend $500 bucks.... Well you asked for it.... http://24hoursoflemons.com/
  17. I work with a great guy that builds my race motors here in San Diego. He did a masterful job with my roadster U20 race motor, and has been building reliable rast motors for us for over 5 years. Contact Les Cannaday at 760-940-6365.

2008!?!? we arent even to 2007 yet. Perhaps Mr Wenzel can follow up with you.
  19. thanks jmark, I dont think I will even bother....
  20. I am signed up to bring one of my race cars, If I can get my 510 done in time it will be there. Otherwise I will probably bring the Z. Hope to see you guys there, it is a great show at a great venue.
  21. Well I know the Hybrid guys are at it again, and want to take another shot at this...so we will see what happens. I caught the last five minutes of "Pinks" and well, it wasn't pretty. As for the Full Throttle episode, It is available on DVD, I have a copy only because they used my Z for the interviews with John Morton and Trevor Harris...I sure wish they could have done the show with just those two and their interviews like "behind the headlights". That would have been a show! I can't tell you how many great stories got left on the cutting room floor, there was 8 hours of interviews that was cut down to less than 5 minutes on the show...and the other crap with those fools attemting to make a 240Z go really slow.
  22. If you want genuine Minilights you can buy a used set that I have for $500 bucks.
  23. Depending on where you are in the LA area, Les Cannaday in Vista California might be an option. If you are in Orange County Les might be a good option. Les maintains my Roadster race car, my Racing 510 and works on my BRE Z. Les Cannaday Classic Datsun 760-940-6365 345 Olive Ave Vista CA www.classicdatsun.com
  24. Steve for the car, and the PARTS. Come on...there are some crazy parts for this car...however, I think the selling party could do better selling the parts separately...Again, I suspect that unless two parties want to step up and bid this up to 20k it will not make reserve. Ron
  25. I know this car, This was Les Cannaday's right hand drive Z that he sold three years ago. Its current owner paid about 8k for it then. It needed floors and a hatch back then (which are provided by the current seller). I have driven in this car several times, ant it was always a good runner. A good friend flew down from northern california to drive the car to Vegas for the National Z convention in 2001. This car has good bones and with a little work can be a great car. I suspect that 20k is close to the reserve price, but dont really know for sure. I do hope that the car goes to a good home, and is restored correctly.
