  1. Cool Dreco!!
  2. Healthy!! Great video!! As for noise restrictions, my Z is 114db easy...No problem at Fontana but there would be issues at most of other the tracks in So Cal. I am looking at integrating a muffler under the car for track days.
  3. Anger!? Not a Video, no...But I am sure one will pop up soon.

  6. The Z 432 spoiler was sold by BRE then later Interpart in the United States, and to my knowledge was not sold through Nissan. Nissan sold a spoiler that was a smoothed out version of the 432 spoiler (without) the 2 bumps. Pete Brock, a close friend of Mr. K probably got the rights to sell a part that was not offered in the united states in 1969 /70. The Spoiler on my car (which is a copy of the 432 spoiler) is the correct part for my replica, I have detailed photos from a Road and Track Magazine showing the two bumps.
  7. Because it was sold through Brock Racing Enterprises in the United States. :stupid:
  8. I would suggest Les Cannaday in Southern California. He builds a number of race motors for Datsun Racers locally, and has the best engine builder around to build up your motor. Classic Datsun 760-940-6365 I know Dave Rebello too, and have friends that run his motors and he builds a strong motor as long as you don't build something too wild...Dave is in Northern California so I dont know if that fits your criteria.
  9. Les Cannaday, Classic Datsun 760-940-6365 That is where I got my front and rear BRE spoilers.....

Eric, I am familiar with the math...I assume that you are planning on running a ZX 5spd, and under those conditions a 4:11 or 4.44 works well on the street... That still does not change the main issue...Parts for a 190 are hard to find and expensive. Ron

EricB, some parts for a R190 are very difficult to find. There is one bearing in particular that is no longer available, replacement gear sets are extremely rare and rear covers and side plates are equally as difficult to find. Les Cannaday bought the majority of R190 parts from Nissan USA when they discontinued all the parts for this differential. If you have one that needs to be rebuilt you might spend more to fix it than what it would cost to buy an R180 with a Quaiffe. Another thing to keep in mind is that R190's came with gear sets that are not suited for street use. The most typical gear in an R190 is a 4.44 gear. Bottom line is there are still parts available for R180's but since Nissan never supported R190's in the states (other than in of the comp catalog). Trying repair a broken R190 may not be possible any more. John Coffey, is the last guy I know who was successful rebuilding an R190 about 2 years ago, and I bought that one from him. I use mine (I have 2) for my Vintage race car.

I believe that the car pictured above (nice Ebbro Model) is still in Japan or a very fine replica exists of this car. There was a Nostagic Hero Magazine I saw a few years back with the build up of a car that looked very much like the car above. As for building replicas....It is amazing what a little reasearch will do to uncover the right parts to do a quality restoration/replica. If need be there are sources that will custom build the parts you need from photos, but I would suggest that you look to the original suppliers first. Good luck, it would be a great project. R

Gee are you on a low "Carb" Diet on your Z? I would like to see someone do a really nice white & Black 240Z. In the late 80's I had a 71 with Black enkie mesh wheels, black interior (converted from that nasty blue) black stripe with "240Z" that went down the side of the car. Nicely lowered...man I miss that car.
  15. I have fabricated the dual exaust 2 1/4" OD exhaust to two megaphones for my BRE Replica and I can tell you it makes some noise! 114 DB or so. Beware of a big jump in noise going straight dual exhaust. R P.S. 110 Octane leaded Race Fuel $6.00 USD a gallon.

Theme, theme.....Hmm, I wonder what I should do? A vintage racer, maybe?....Yeah! a BRE Replica! ~oh, it's already been done :stupid: Well how about a Bob Sharp 2000 Roadster replica? Oh, thats been done too... I guess I am out of luck. :stupid: :stupid:

there are two different length collars that support the throw out bearing depending on the type of slave cylinder that you are running (early screw type [manually adjustable] vs hydraulic only [non-adjustable]) Be sure you are consistant with which set up your running and you should not have a problem. The Diameter of the clutch does not matter other than a larger diameter clutch will give you more surface area, and larger rotating mass.

Chickenwafer, I am not sure if that is correct information. I run a Roadster clutch on my Z Race Car with a "B" box transmission and have no issue with it. I think the correct answer is make sure that your clutch will work with the Trans you are getting.

Unfortunately early Z's are very easy to steal...and so they make a good target for thieves. We will keep an eye out down in San Diego for your car. Best of luck for a speedy recovery of your Z.

agreed, it will be a huge difference. What Transmission are you looking to run?
  21. Very cool, aren't you guys going to do the blackhawk show June 4th!?
