This is a sorta continuation of my original post a while (years) back. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread40278.html My dad passed away in January so my handy free labor mechanic/body man were gone but my dreams of my sweet yellow z car were not. So thankfully I live near the same town that one of the best imo Z shops is and even more thankfully my 240z was only parked 2 blocks from Pettersen Motorworks, a nice easy tow. I drove into town the same time it was being towed over and it was like wow 'My car is on a street for once' even if it was on a tow truck Long story short I scraped together what money a young person can, put it all in my Z, visited her like everyday, polished till my hands were sore, and now I can proudly state I'm part of the 'Yay me and my car can go to the supermarket, park next to the local kid's 350z and smirk at him at the checkout line' club. Cuz ya know, they're cool but a 240z is sooo much better. On a more serious note, I had to stop by and brag a little for my small accomplishment of a running z and hopefully as money permits I can post updates as I continue it's improvement. A sound system is a must, you can't even get music on the stock AM radios ughhh. So here's some pics. Polishing progress, I have much more done now. But what a difference! Me & the Z. The polishing made me look haggard cough cough. First time I drove her, I almost cried. Hell I almost cried when I first heard her start. And when I finally drove her home, an awesome day. I probably should have remembered the date haha.

Thank you all for the welcomes! I'm honestly not sure what to think of the Nissan Cube, I drive by a Nissan dealership everyday and I enjoy seeing the 370z and I like style of the cube's windows... but something always brings a sneer to my face when I see them. I've learned a lot already from these forums, and it's definitely got a wealth of information! Right now we don't have any concrete plans in place, we've bounced around the idea of doing a restoration but if we did we'd want it to be close to complete as we can go. We have the resources to save a lot of money on labor so it's a thought. My thought on getting a z was to modify it a bit, keep true to the original looks and feel but not 100% original. It'd be too much of a shame in my mind to modify this car so that's out of the picture. But at the same time we've even considered selling it to someone who would do right by the car. We've gotten some offers, but nothing I think I'd sell for. Like I said though, nothing concrete and I think I fall a little more in love with her every time I sit in the drivers seat and daydream!! (I'm such a girl:tapemouth) When I looked at the plate on the doorjamb I'm almost positive it said 10/70. I'll definitely get some more pictures on Monday though. I was actually gonna get some pictures of under the hood.. but umm. I had a blonde moment and couldn't figure out how get past the safety. I felt so dumb when my dad showed me, I tried to move it every which way but the right way. I really love the white z's, they have a certain class to them when painted white.. but this car is yellow for sure. Here's a couple pictures of the Warranty book/card. It's actually still got the Norberg dealership license plate frame on it. I actually did a lot of searching on this forum before and determined it was a Series 1, I think I talked about the car non-stop for about 2 months. Erm, not in front of my mom though! She still doesn't know about it hahaha. I just about know every nook and cranny of the car, even if I don't know the names or what's what. At least when it comes to interior, I know nothing about mechanical stuff. The drivers side window trim on the interior is broken, and the console area is a bit cracked. But other then that along with new carpet and seats everything is pretty much in 'like new' condition. Headliner is great, I was actually really surprised, everything in the back is in great condition. It even has the original jack behind the seats with the jack handle in a pouch. The paint on the handle hasn't even been scratched. A lot of it looks just as good as my friend's brand new car. Even the seat belts look new. It just needs to be cleaned! Erm, we had a 260z and a 280z briefly and their interiors were absolutely trashed. That's why I'm in so much awe of this car! I bet it's nothing new to you guys, please ignore my amazement . I'll try to get some better pictures on Monday for sure. Oh yea, about the Dash. It actually has about 4 or 5 semi long cracks in the middle. Not sure what we're gonna do about that, finding and getting a uncracked dash seems like paying a lot of money for something that will probably eventually crack anyways. If we could find one! Edit: Oh yea, price. Umm, kinda embarrassed to say. But it only put a 500 dollar dent in our pockets, I paid half of that. It was a real lucky find.

Ah, you know I thought it was more central Cali? I moved to Magalia, up in the foothills. Snow and all. I'm in the Chico area now though. I had the VIN on a note in my pocket.. but my pocket must have a hole. The last 5 digits were somewhere between 11000 and 13000 though, I'll grab it the next chance I get. Sorry! Edit: I just remembered the paperwork was in my dad's toolbox so I grabbed it and the VIN is HLS30-12823.

Hello. I'm new to the forums and I finally got around to taking some pictures of my 240z. Can't say I'm too knowledgeable about cars. For now. My dad says he aint working on my cars unless I learn to work on them myself. Anyways, here's a quick back story. I remember waaay back in 1996, it was all a blur when I was so young. But at some point a bronze colored 240z popped it's way into my life, even as a little 6 year old I was absolutely smitten. I loved the way it sounded, I loved the way it drived, I loved driving over the bridge to my kindergarten class and then coming home in the z. Short story short, we moved from Stockton to North Cali and the z got sold for 500 as travel money. I seen it once a few years later. But I was always determined to get another one. It took me and my dad about 2 years of searching since I was 16, but it was worth it. For the few details that I do know. The cars been sitting since 97. I have documents that show it was owned by the original owner up until 94, not sure what happened to it between 94 and 97 and then it sat up until last year when we bought it. Everything to my knowledge seems pretty original, my dad's a body man and was amazed that there hasn't been any bodywork done on the car. Oh, it didn't come with carpet. Someone tore it out and put some..fuzzy stuff where the carpet went while it was garaged from 97-2009 I guess it helped prevent rust, my dad says the car is pretty much rust free. The car was bought sight unseen, so it was honestly a pure shocker that it's so nice. I can't wait to work on it, but my 79' chevy stepside is first. Aghhh!! If anyone has any technical questions, feel free to ask. I'll talk to my dad and get back to you, or answer what I know. I hope anyone that looks enjoys the pictures! Have a great night.
