I got the engine bay and interior painted this weekend. I have a couple small spots I have to wet sand but over all I think it turned out pretty good. Now time to start putting some parts back on. Brian

dogleg and bottom
Got the other dog leg fixed up. It wasnt bad enough to replace the whole piece so I just cut it out and made some pieces to fit. I'll have to skim it with filler before paint.

dogleg and bottom
Im gonna try to get the inside and engine bay painted in next couple weeks so I can start putting it back together. This car came in pieces from the guy I bought it from after my 73 was wrecked. I wanted to paint it before winter but dont want to rush it. I figure interior and engine bay will be good enough to get most of the car put back together over winter then paint the rest in spring. front control arms and bushings
If I remember correctly...If your talking about the thin outer sleeve thats left when you remove stock rubber then yes it needs to come out. They dont come out easily either. Especially the rear outer control arms. Some one correct me if Im wrong. I did about a year ago on a 240. Brian

will this work?
Yeah I looked at the mount for the differential and it is curved like my 73 I believe.

will this work?
I have a 73 I've been woorking on for 2 years. long story short..my brother totaled it just before I got tags for it. Now I have a 71(10/70) and Im wondering if I can use all the susepension, drive shaft, diff, etc from the 73 with no problems. I remember reading somewhere that somthing is different. Maybe the rear is mounted 35mm forward or back? I can barely bring myself to post the wrecked picture but here it is and heres the new project. Starting from scratch. Brian

Triple Weber 42 DCOE) Air Filter Choice Assistance
That setup is definately cool. I want to use the horns but just dont know if it will work ok with the K&Ns.

Triple Weber 42 DCOE) Air Filter Choice Assistance
Lazeum, are you or can you run air horns under those filters? I have similar setup and need filters in the next week or so. If I get the K&N filters, should I remove the air horns or put them on over top of horns? My headers are wrapped with header tape and I dont have a heat shield by the way. Brian

seat frame?
Is the seat seat frame the same on a 240z and 280z? Mine is rusted pretty bad and before I try to weld it I figured I might be able to find a better used one. Brian

back yard body work
Thanks Guy. I closed the doors after I put the windows in and realized I didnt have door handles on outside yet. Had to climb through the hatch to open them up again. Looks like it will be 3 weeks till I put the engine together. Hopefully you'll be around then and I can put you to work.
