Looking for Antenna parts for my 1972 Z
I will keep an eye out for you Jerry! I don't visit the junkyards are frequently as I used to, but your thread just reminded me of the antenna i pulled a while ago. I got a new battery and I just tested it by putting on the old one... and it works! Hopefully I will hit the junkyard again soon.

JDM/EURO.... Tail lights......RARE
Someone put up a set on ebay for $250 buy it now about 2 weeks ago... and it must have sold quickly: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NissanTail-Lights-Datsun-240z-With-Amber-Lens-/221139876663?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item337cf6bb37&nma=true&si=KGND%2FVykM4oET5TiJREYN1PC8XA%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

5 speed knob reproduction?
Exactly what I was referring to, I want to replace the one that broke! I actually own this knob: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-77-78-OEM-5-Speed-Leather-Shift-Knob-/251124421748?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a782e9474&vxp=mtr ...but the wood one was so much better! I looked for a long time for that JDM knob and was a bummer seeing it break. Not to deviate from the topic, but 280~Master is also correct, my friend bought a "rebuilt" engine... looked good on the outside, but was dirty on the inside when they pulled it apart. Even though his store is in the next town over, I would steer clear as well.

5 speed knob reproduction?
Here is the knob I was referring to, it was off of a 75 Fairlady Z. Looks just like the wood USDM 4 speed that came on the 240z, but with a 5th speed on it. I believe the seller is on this site, but this is the only picture I have that the seller sent me of the knob before it broke. I have a friend that has a nice one I will see if he can post it later.

5 speed knob reproduction?
I appreciate the response and have my fingers crossed that everything works out well! If you do succeed, would you consider making a duplicate? I feel terrible about losing such a part that I have been after for a while now... I saw a reproduction on ebay, but it looks off not to mention they want $200 for it...

5 speed knob reproduction?
I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone that reproduces the JDM 5 speed wooden shift knobs. I had a JDM one accidentally fall and the plastic lense/gear map shattered  I was hoping that someone made a repro I could buy?

I spy a z!
I saw this 2+2 and another 280z (unpictured) at the shop that Elvin works at. Nice color and license plate read "King Z"

I spy a z!
I went to Long Beach to pick up some goods off of Craigslist at the beginning of the month. I saw a green 260z (later model) and a yellow 620 pick up in an apartment complex garage!

BRE 311 cam + C cam question
I got this email from Mr. Brock himself: Hi…. It’s been so long that I don’t have the specs on the 311 camshaft. It wasn’t a full race grind, like we used in our team cars, but a nice improved performance grind that took advantage of better breathing headers and intake with improved compression. I’d change to better valve springs, retainers and keepers than stock if you intend to use it. It’s perfectly usable on the street. Tune up and go to the drags to make some base line runs with you stock set up. Then install the cam and try again. I think you’ll notice the difference. If you like that, THEN go for a full rework on the head with tuliped valves and higher compression! Peter Brock

Sealant inside valve cover?
Oh ok, the reason I ask is I have a "nissan" japanese valve cover and it has not been used in a while so the steel on the inside has surface rust... I assume I have to remove it to clean it up, but I wanted to know how to seal it once I get around to it? I can post pictures if necessary as well.

I spy a z!
Saw this Z on the way back home, seems overly modified with different front bumper, big tires and fender flares.

What to take off an '83 zx?
I think the stock ratio on a 240z is 3.364 IRCC, if not someone will certainly chime in with the correct number.

I spy a z!
Saw a blue 280zx 2+2 on Pioneer Boulevard in Norwalk. I also got lost using the GPS, the street was split into 2 and I went in the wrong side. Luckily however I found another brown '77-78 280z.

I spy a z!
I went in today for orientation and was looking for parking... well there was no parking immediately in front of the building so I had to go park else where, but this is what I saw and went back to take a picture of it. It is a 1977 or 1978 280z... I am leaning more toward '77 but I am not 100% sure. I saw it had a vented hood, but I have not seen a 1978 with the rear bumper overrider like that. Maybe someone could tell the difference?

Ruby Ridge video
I was reading about the Ruby Ridge incident that happened 20 years ago since it was mentioned in an article on yahoo. I found this video on youtube, and just noticed that at the 0:58 mark it shows a 240z in the background behind the family. Kind of a trivial detail, but an interesting story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi5uN212a78&feature=player_embedded

Balance tube
The early Z's had it set up that way, coming out of the side instead of the top.

I spy a z!
This white Z has been fixed up. It used to be a little rough and the front of the hood crumpled in. I actually left this gentleman a note offering to buy his Z back in 2008 before I got mine. Took the picture from the other side of the street. This Z is located on the border of Diamond Bar and Phillips Ranch/Pomona. I actually have a friend literally across the street that has a red 280z, but it was not on his drive way so I will have to follow up on that one.

I spy a z!
This is a blue 280z that was and still maybe for sale on craigslist. There was a spiderweb hanging from the front left bumper so I don't think it has been moved in a while.

I spy a z!
I got a few more Zs on the way to my girlfriends house! This one was spotted by accident one day I made a wrong turn. It's a yellow/gold color and I believe it has snowflake wheels. It's off of Garey Ave and the other closest major street is Arrow Highway. It was taken from the cab of the Datusun 620!
