Agreed, I don't see the sea foam colors and there *shouldn't* be an option to change the colors. As far as I know... This new software has so many new things there could be some kind of option.

The past 3 days I worked on the club website updates! No Z work, but ... well... I guess it could be considered work.

I also noticed we have a Vintage Z Racing category in our gallery. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=3403 I moved both of these to a common "Vintage Z Photos" category so they both appear under the same heading. This should help people find the vintage photos a lot easier. Have fun. Mike

I created a vintage Z photo gallery some time ago in our gallery. I think it's a little hard to find, but, here's the link: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=512 I should probably rename it to vintage Z photos or something similar. Right now it's called "Blast from the Past" and that's a little hard to find. Anyway, there are some pretty nice photos in there so far. Would love to see these get put in there because linking to external sites with photos eventually become broken. If they are in our database, they will remain here forever. Mike

I remember one of our members, bobc was part of some fund raising for the museum. Take a look at this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30905 You might be able to get in touch with him to find some current data.

Super high-class. Is there any other way?
  8. Dave, I also think it's a cool idea, but, came up with a few questions. I assume you are posting this to retrieve feedback about the idea. So, here goes. Dave, unless it's a race car, I don't see how you can secure the vehicle against someone just opening the door, pushing the button, and driving away with your car. Have you thought about security? AFIK, the push-button technology works only on newer cars if the key-fob is present in (or near) the vehicle. I haven't looked into the method they use (some kind of RFID I assume), but, without this in place I don't see how this push button can be used in more markets than just race cars or cars rarely driven and protected in a garage. If it plugs directly into the existing wiring, this is a benefit for your product. I think it would be really cool if you took this idea to the next level. Perhaps integrate RFID and tie it to a specific alarm manufacturer. Mike
  9. I fell for a missing A/C belt at one time. Guy told me that it worked, but, the belt came off and it just needed to be replaced. HA.
  10. Refugee? What happened to Zcar.com? Did they sell out?

Yep, and if you aren't already logged in when you go to that site, simply use the login link with your same user account info from this site. After you login, you'll see a link called "Place an Ad"... And, it should be downhill from there. Let me know if you have any troubles. Mike

I think there was also another Classic car event in CA that weekend last year. Not a bad idea to move the MSA show to a unique date. I know it's a lot of work, but, a 3-day event is the best... gives me a reason to be in the area for the entire weekend! Thanks for the update, Greg!! Mike

I used to live in the Seattle area in the early 80's. We used to make our own long board skate boards with custom wood and handles so we could run down the steep hills. It was awesome, wish I would have kept my boards. I think they call it street louge now. We would make all kinds of boards. Man, I should have started a company building these things. I remember saving up cash from my paper route to buy boards and parts.

Cool stuff! I think it's great when someone finds a thread like this, especially Gary, the guy who cut up the car!! It goes to show you that we have some real Z content on this site and not a bunch of junk threads. Just being proud of our club... That said, I'm surprised the link still works from 8 years ago. Most of the other sites and threads from that long ago are moved or deleted. Gary, you should post it here in the content area and it will last forever.
  18. Mike posted a post in a topic in South America
Okay, so, I've been to Brasil twice in the last 3 years. Each trip usually consists of visits to other cities, towns, and counties. Most of my travel has been concentrated in the lower part of the country, which is considered Southern Brasil. Anyway, from what I've seen (or NOT seen), there are no Zcars here. After speaking with a few of the locals, it appears that Nissan didn't import the Z into South America in the 70's? Some people have seen the car on TV and at various points in time, but, none of these people have actually seen one in person or driving on the streets. I've noticed that vehicles in Brasil are not cheap. You can easily double the price for cars. For instance, a simple $15k Honda Civic in Brasil will cost approximately $30-35k (in USD) at the current exchange rate (1.7R to 1USD) at the moment = ~$60k Reis. Because of this fact, I have seen a lot of older cars in much better condition. For some of the population, it's more feasible to maintain an older car than it is to buy a new one. There are, however, less people driving fixed up classic cars here. Most of the vehicles I've seen are daily drivers. Very rarely do I see any kind of hot rod driving down the street. Anyway, after saying all of that, does anyone else have experiences or know of any Z's in South America? I'd love to hear from you. Mike

Very nice score on the early Z!! You'll love it, I'm sure. My advise, make sure you repair everything right the first time. Don't bother with cheap imitations, buy Nissan/Datsun brands and pay for the real Datsun mechanic (if you can't do it yourself). Mike
  20. OMG, you are in the best place to own a Z. There are tons of events in CA every year and there are hundreds of owners in your local area.
  21. Nice to have you with us!! Merry Christmas.
  22. Thank you, Kats, for bringing this topic to the club. Please also tell Mr. Tamura thank you for joining in the discussion. We are honored to be a part of the topic. The sketches and photos in this thread are beautiful pieces of important history of the Z. Mike Gholson
