What Kind of Car Shows do you really enjoy?
I like car shows with a variety of things to see and a variety of interesting people to talk with... The "usual" car shows with all the same exhibitors (mostly american muscle cars) can get pretty boring... to me of course. But, a show with a big variety of foreign and domestic, along with some mods, really turns me on. Oh, and bring on the Ferrari's. These turn me into a little boy.

Clunk elimination has begun, with pics
I had the same problem. After replacing the U-joints twice I finally got rid of it by replacing ALL of the bushings in the back-end of the car. Mustache bar, diff mount, strap, and of course the U-joints. Some advice on the u-joints... don't go cheap here. Buy the best U-joints you can find. I eventually went with stock replacements but I am sure there are better ones out there now. I recommend doing everything because you probably don't want to take the back-end apart again. Get it over with and do all of the bushings now.

Opinion needed (56k sorry pic heavy)
FYI, you can make this less graphic heavy for our modem users by using the ATTACHMENT option instead of the link to outside pics... Our server will size them down automatically.. Anyway, for an early model car... that price isn't bad. Try to see if he'll take $1k. Just know that you'll spend at least $5 - 10k to restore her... HOPEFULLY the engine is good for a rebuild. You want to keep the matching numbers (if they are matching). Mike

1970's original Key Blank(oval top)
Says the guy is out of Corvallis. Funny that's where Scoville Nissan is located... I wonder if one of Jack's employee's is selling some old stock. Corvallis is about 10 minutes from my house. I'll give Jeff a call and see if he knows someone selling these keys.

1970's original Key Blank(oval top)
I guess you couldn't see me smirking/smiling when I typed that, but, I wasn't serious about the Mr thing... I always hate being called Mr... but, at almost 40, I should probably get used to it. HA! Anyway, I had no idea Nissan never released a DATSUN key? Is that true? I never had an original key for my '71 since the PO had lost it somewhere. Is there a write-up somewhere showing the correct keys for the various years the Zcars were produced? m

1970's original Key Blank(oval top)
Hi Carl, texasz, others... Please don't take the removal of your positive suggestions as negative marks. I simply wanted to remove any evidence of a flame war so we could continue the original discussion about keys. I know most of you were not to blame and don't mean to insult those of you who are on this club daily. Again, my intent was to simply perform a clean-up to get us back on track. Don't worry about it, Bill. Thanks for the apology. Now, let's get back to talking about keys!! My favorite subject!!!! m

New import cars suck-old ones were great/I'm right you are wrong/whatever else.
This thread is starting to get a life of it's own. Think I'm going to spin off a new thread......

Hi Tomo, YES absolutely everyone has a right to their opinion! Don't forget that it goes two ways because people are allowed to disagree as well as express their opinions. So, if you have an opinion don't fret if somone disagrees (or agrees) with it... M

NISSAN GTR......wow!
I love rides like that... we used to do those kinds of runs on the crotch rockets... It would be a lot safer in a cage like a car.

Hiya! How's the Z Forum been - Long time
Hiya Vic! Where ya been? On a sabbatical ? It's good to hear from you.

Yes, we are here to talk about the original Z. But, that doesn't mean we are unwilling to discuss concepts like the one here. I'd love to take my semi-modified foreign car to a mostly-American hot rod show to see how it goes off... Yea, I am getting that feeling. I'm so happy to know that we are able to help fill a need.

Ok, I'm a little confused. When did this site become a "purist" club? That's news to me... Considering that I'm the founder of the site, it's even bigger news. Why do people insist on telling people to go away like this? I'm confused... :pirate: The human-race is in this together, I just don't understand differences like this...... Do you just think you're happily banging away on an American-made computer keyboard? The shoes and clothing on your back are probably not from America. Or if they are, they're probably assembled in Vietnam or some other country. Ever bother looking under the dashboard of your American made car? All those little components, circuit boards, modules, and technology... Sorry, but, I just don't agree with this thinking -- ESPECIALLY since this website is here because a foreign company wanted to bring us something really cool... the 240z.

Frankly, I think the Z made huge leaps to gain the respect of the hot rodding community. The notion of Asian imports being cheap and ridiculous isn't shared by everyone on this site. In fact, the sheer number of Asian import purchases over the latest decade would suggest otherwise. Why is it that Ford can't figure out how to export their production without showing a huge profit LOSS while a company like Toyota can have their cars built in American and show record profits ? Anyway, off my soap box... I LOVE to see that a hot rodding company like this is able to take on a Z project and advertise it right along with the other rods. It makes me proud. A restoration project is the same no matter which way you look at it. All cars require the same attention and love to bring out their glory.
