To all that knew James Burgess aka "ZmeFly"
Guys, let's just face the fact that we were duped by a scammer. The facts suggest that he is a petty theif. I doubt he'll get any time out of it. Although this thread does bring in a lot of traffic to the website, I think we should take all of this to heart and move on. It doesn't make sense to beat it like a dead horse. I do have to admit this guy was a frequent contributor to this site and posted many helpful topics and photos. It was a controvercial topic for quite some time and we lost members because of it. My stance, back in the day, was a little more strict, but, I can't stop some things from creeping up. :stupid: It's just odd how this guy switched gears and changed on all of us. It really is frustrating. I've always had a rule that we should maintain Z-only content and you can see that our club is mostly Z content. However, I do believe this is on-topic because we need to warn others about the dangers of online activity. Just remember that most people are trustworthy, there are some who are not. And, it's easier to hide behind fake aliases, addresses, ISP's, and such. Now, please remember that we are all human. So, only say something in a forum as if you were standing right in front of that individual. (sorry for the soap-box talk) Getting off my soapbox... -- Mike

To all that knew James Burgess aka "ZmeFly"
So, are you telling me that you knew he faked his own death before anyone else? I was also part of the effort to send condolances. I even wrote up a story and posted it on the front page. I felt like such an idiot when I found out the real truth about him. There are legal ramifications floating around that guy as well so I wanted to stay as far away from that as possible. But, now that he's come out and admitted his own guilt on our website....

Did you guys notice that "Delta Dawn" (aka ZmeFly) went back and edited a few posts to say this? That's a total confirmation that he's guilty. To answer some of your questions.... it looks like this guy is part of some pretty serious scamming on Ebay and other sites. He definitely had all of us fooled.

Jason Paruta
Jason, is that the 3-port style air dam from MSA? I like the way it looks on your car, but, the MSA website doesn't do it justice. http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=50-1422&Category_Code=7AD1

240 Z IN State of Kuwait
Hey, great pictures!! Little do most of us know how popular Z's are over in Kuwait! You might want to consider uploading the photos to our gallery to make them a more permanent addition to our club. Thanks again for sharing!

Holes under sound deadner
Where? In the floorpans? There are supposed to be two bigger holes (with plugs in them) on the floorpans. Anyway, let us know where you're talking about....

Driving gloves
I'm also an avid fan of driving gloves. The last time I drove a car (that made me sweat while driving), I was always slowing down and wiping off my hands. The kangaroo glove sounds interesting, can we get these in the US or is it an Aussie thing? I've tried simpler ideas such as leather isatoners and simple "rocker style" gloves with the fingers cut off. Oh, and I've also tried the really thin sport-style gloves you can find at a sporting goods store. These kind of gloves are made for athletes so they can hang onto footballs and such. How about golf gloves? You'd have to find a lefty and a righty because most stores only sell for the right-handed player. Here's something Google produced when I typed driving gloves: http://www.leatherglovesonline.com/pages2/md1a-md1b.htm M

Removing 240Z engine....have question.
I think there is a few different ideas here. After reading your post, I believe someone just brought up a common problem only if you are changing transmissions. If you are simply removing it to do some work (and will be putting it back), then you will not have the problem. Mike

the one that started it all is up for sale!
Yep, the system is filtering curse words with ***, ****, ****, *******, ***got, etc. Just something I discovered last night. I guess it's too much to filter out A S S... I'll modify that.

my other toys: why i'm not making much progress on my Z
Nice vett. Is that a Z06? I drove a Z06 a few weeks ago and just about had an fit... it was a blast. It brought back memories of driving my sport bike. m

Out of state purchases
If you pay tax on the purchase, make sure you get two receipts... One receipt for the actual purchase price and another for a lot less (so you pay less taxes).

Hey, ask your friend if she would consider entering this in our "Best Pose with a Zcar" contest. She could be featured in Sport Z Magazine!

Group Z photo in Melbourne
Hey guys... when was this event? Was it back in 2005 or recently? I just noticed that we don't have a 2006 event section. But, I fixed that and want to move photos to the new category if necessary.

Group Z photo in Melbourne
Oh man.. it's been too long since I've been to Melbourne! Those are some excellent picts and I really do miss it down under. The weather looks absolutely perfect the day of your meet. I am jealous! Hope things are going well with the club down there...

More Z's on Ebay....Very Sad
Hey, I think it's great this guy wants to help keep these Z's from going to the scrap heap. However, I am not sure they are worth the restoration. They may have some good parts left for someone to build a nice car. Only trouble is taking the time to haul all of them away. That would be a hell of a task.

Classic Motorsports "top 10" Japanese Race Cars of all time!
Hey Ron, I don't have a problem if you want to post a poll on this topic. But, make sure you have a good list of cars so people can pick from them. I could see this list becoming pretty long. It would be a great poll. Go ahead and post it on the "Front Page Polls" forum when you have a list ready.

Found on EBay again
Guys, it's pointless to discuss this all over again... we already have a thread for it.
