Carbon parts (post suggestions)
Ok, so what is the tally so far? What kind of parts are you thinking about making in quantities of 3-4 ? I want a rear tail-light surround piece (what do you call that?) for my '71. It will be the same as yours, mull.

Carbon parts (post suggestions)
Mull, I think people are trying to help you by showing others who have made parts like this. They aren't trying to ask you to buy parts from another vendor.... they are simply sharing information. We realize that you already have a sponsor. I think that point has been made very clear in a subtle and elegant manner. :tapemouth As far as CF parts, I'd love to see a dash and perhaps a center console. Ron Carter posted a picture of an all-cf dash at one time. I've attached the image. My POINT in saying this... it is possible. I just don't think many people have done it. Your market may not be that big for a CF dash. Maybe center-console. I also like the rear taillight piece as well. -- Mike

Carbon parts (post suggestions)
The point behind my link to the CF hood was to inform you guys they do exist. A few members were asking about hoods. Therefore, don't waste your time making a new CF hood if it has already been done. Mull, are you planning to make parts and ship them Internationally? -- Mike

Carbon parts (post suggestions)
Hey guys, Classic Datsun is already selling Carbon Fibre hoods. Check out their site: http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/carbonfiberhood.html They don't have the best website, so, it's difficult to get back to their home page without deleting the directory/filenames. Just click here: http://www.classicdatsun.com -- Mike

How much $$ have you spent on your Z ?
No way! I saw the pictures in the gallery, but, do you have some of Pete driving the car or at least standing next to it? That is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Get any good signatures? -- Mike

I've decided to switch to SU carbs!
A good working EFI system is reliable and performs very well. I'd stick with it. The SU's are nice if you like to tinker. But, pulling out an EFI system on a daily driver is probably a wrong move. Invest into some new jets, fuel-lines, and electrical components for the EFI system. You'll have a very reliable car. Be sure to get the high-pressure hoses designed for transporting fuel. If you want a good set of SU's... go check out http://www.ztherapy.com and tell them you saw it here. They will rebuild a nice set for you. -- MIke

credit card scam
I wouldn't even let them get past, "Hello, this is <name> from VISA".... I would hang up. There is no reason they will be calling you. Unless, of course, you're late on a payment.

How much $$ have you spent on your Z ?
Oh yea, been there. I have about 1/3 the investment as you (so far). But, I do wish sometimes that it wasn't ever started -- ie: That I just fixed a few things and kept it on the road. HOWEVER, I do believe it isn't a unique situation. There are many people who spend lots of money on a fun hobby such as this. I am also a member of the Factory Five Racing club and there are many other people who spend $60k on a "project" like this (in any kind of form). When restoring or building a car it is not unlikely to spend at least $25k - $35k. -- Mike

Z Restoration Progam
Way to go 26th-Z! I'm in full support of some research into this topic. If you are interested in talking with someone who was part of the factory restoration project, give Les Cannaday a call at Classic Datsun Motorsports. http://www.classicdatsun.com He was one of the shops selected to perform the restorations for sure.... -- Mike
