Window & Door Seals
A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away) I purchased a set of window & door seals from Performance Specalties. Since then I understand that they've greatly improved the kit. My main concern is the door seals. I've heard that the later-model door-seals have the metal clip part molded together with the rubber seal. The kit I have requires me to glue in the rubber piece and then snap the metal trim on top of it. WHAT A PAIN! Has anyone purchased a kit from Performance Specialties lately for an early-model Z ? Ie: 70 to 72 240z? And, does this kit come with the metal clip molded to the rubber seal? I understand that many shops are reselling the kits from PS, so, they might all be the same. I even hear that Nissan is selling the PS seals as their own now... Anyway, if you have made this purchase lately... speak up!! I'm about to make the purchase. But, I want the better seals. -- Mike

Guys, don't use this site to send information about somebody else. I deleted the post with his contact information.

Vented or Not?
I don't really like the look of the vents on earlier Z's.

Her first REAL drive
I've got some sweet picts of UTE's with those huge roo-movin bumpers from my trip to Melbourne last year. The locals couldn't figure out why I was soo excited by that standard feature. Then again, I was also excited to see all the Cockys (Cockatoos) flying around in the wild.

I created a folder in the events area so we can keep all of these categorized. Cuong, I also added a link to your original message so people can find it. Thanks for the contribution, the picts are great. -- Mike

I looked at their site... Pretty sweet module. But, it is limited. We should put together something like that for our site. Writing down yet another cool module that would be 'nice' to have in the club.

what causes oil on spark plugs?
Oil on the spark plugs is caused by oil getting into the cylinder. Simple.

Rust Replacement Parts
Actually, I like this idea as well. A replacement battery tray is definitely a plus. Make it so people need to drill holes through the lower area and provide stainless bolts with rubber bushings to block the holes. Hell, make the whole thing out of stainless steel.

BBALS, I can't let you post your stuff for sale unless you are a supporting vendor. Rules, if you are selling a product to make a profit, you are a vendor. If you are selling a product such as a used Z, parts, or otherwise not making profits on a regular basis... you can sell here as a regular member.

dash restoration
Well guys, I can say that the dashboards from Nissan aren't all that great. I ordered one a few months ago and it showed up here with a few flaws -- a cut in the vinyl, some wrinkles in the vinyl, and a crooked center section. "I think these guys were drinking too much rice wine," was a good comment I heard about it... I might be sending my dash out to have it redone. So much for running a side-by-side comparison with a new dash. Ugh. I'll have to take a lot of pictures. -- Mike

dash restoration
Hi guys, Unfortunately, we don't allow businesses to directly promote themselves on our club site unless they are a supporting member. Although I feel this is a VERY valuable service for Zcars, I must stick to my guns because I have asked other businesses to follow this rule. Believe me, I really want to see you guys promote your dash restoration service on this club. Is there any way you can become a supporting member? If so, get ahold of me by sending a private message to Mike. Private messaging is available if you click "USER CP" from the Options menu in the upper left of the screen. -- Mike

dash restoration
Nice!! Thanks for the follow-up on this. I'm sure many people will find this useful. If I don't get my new dash in another week or so, I'm going to cancel the order and try this method. I ended up purchasing a new dash because it was available (and extremely rare). However, when the dash arrived, it had a cut in the plastic. So, I returned it on an exchange basis. Anyway, thanks again!! -- Mike

dual exhuast?
It doesn't really work that way. Sort-of. If you had two small pipes vs one large pipe (without mufflers)... I don't know which configuration would be louder. But, most of your noise has to do with other factors on the system as well. The quality of muffler, the presence of headers, and if you have a mid-muffler all play important part in noise. On a system with 6-to-1 headers, a 2.5" diameter piping system, and a nice muffler.... I can tell you this is a little bit more "throaty" or louder than a 2.25" diameter system using the same components. Therefore, I think you could be louder OR quieter with a dual exhaust system depending on the headers, the diameter, and the type of muffler you use. You can make a 2.25" system plenty quiet and obtain the performance you want out of it.

Microfich CD or Paper Reference
I purchased the CD from Courtesy. And, I'm not just saying this because I created our own CD... but, the Courtesy CD sucks arse. The graphical interface isn't as good and the images are of much worse quality. I'm also offering our CD for $20 if you mail me your Courtesy CD. :cheeky:
