Well, I have some EXCELLENT news! While going through my files trying to find some other stuff, I ran into a box with my original 1971 radio and at the bottom of the box were these:
  2. @bingo, this is actually a fluid distribution valve with a warning switch. It's a stock item, and is supposed to be there. The probe on the top is supposed to connect to a wire that leads to a light inside the cabin. When the fluid becomes out of balance, the switch will close the circuit and cause the light to turn on in the dash.
  3. Looks like the new owner is a current member of our club... I'll wait for him to introduce himself.. ?
  4. I have a feeling more people are going to keep their car stock, So they can resell them later at a higher price. As far as the 260z value is concerned, Just give it time

I've heard CV joints are a good upgrade. Good luck with the install, Guy. Do they have other colors besides orange?

  7. Kats, he's referring to a funny joke in the English language. It goes like this: Let's eat Grandma Let's eat, Grandma * Commas save lives

Don't think I've ever seen these. Are they JDM ? Wouldn't mind getting these and replacing the box I installed on my rig... I want to stay as stock as possible (with small classy updates)..

FYI, I believe the links provided by Arne above were due to a limited search engine on our old forum. Our internal search engine today does a pretty good job doing this. Here's a sample: https://www.classiczcars.com/search/?q=steering wheel restore You can also use Google to search as well with the following query: steering wheel restore "classiczcars.com"

Just went through and updated the links on this thread. They should all be working again.

Jeff and I have worked out a deal for club members. If you're looking for one of these for your wall, just refer to the following discount code for 20% off: ZCARS20
  14. Congrats on the new (almost) arrival! From what I can tell, the VIN #HLS30-007184 looks to be a series 1 car. But, notes on the VIN search shows that some cars even down to 03xxx were titled as 1971's as well. http://zhome.com/History/DesignChanges.htm
  15. Looks like it just broke 6 figures..

Oh, I also wanted to mention the front speed bleeders did not come with a metric size for the outer nut. I had to switch to a 7/16 wrench for adjustments. The rears took the traditional 10mm wrench.

I finally got my speed bleeders and installed both fronts and rears. After bleeding the brakes, I couldn't imagine doing this again without the speed bleeder. This little upgrade makes it SO MUCH EASIER to bleed your brakes on your own. I also suggest buying a small plastic container that you can install on each brake when you're bleeding it. From there you simply need to loosen the speed bleeder and start pumping your brakes. Keeping an eye on the fluid in the master cylinder, keep pumping until the old fluid (and bubbles) are worked out of the system. Simple and no mess. Here's a pic of the Motive Products 1810 Bottle I purchased to capture the old fluid during the bleeding process. https://www.amazon.com/Motive-Products-1810-Bottle/dp/B008C8O026/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=brake+bleeding+motive&qid=1559495213&s=gateway&sr=8-7

Nice kit. Please keep us posted on the progress. What did they provide for a brake proportioning valve?
  22. Thanks for letting me know. I moved it to the Electrical forum.
  23. Hey @LeonV, I like their appearance and tread pattern. I haven't driven them yet due to brake issues (leaky hydraulic switch), but, will let you know once I'm able to street test.

I still wonder though, if it's not NOS how does this guy expect to sell it at such a high price?

Ok this is getting way off topic, but, yes I agree. The slang "lost in translation" comes to mind...
