Restored '70 240Z on BaT
I’m wondering there’s someone from the club (in the area) who can go help out the buyer. I’m sure he’s a bit curious pushing out that kind of money. Then again, he may already be on top if it. No harm in offering though.

Anyone know where the car is physically located and if the seller will allow an inspection? (Sorry I’m on my phone traveling and can’t dig into it right now)

'72 240Z on BaT Already at $45k with 6 More Days to Go!
Yep looks like that’s the final bid. It was impressive even through all the drama. I thought for sure the trolls were going to cause the auction to end at a lower price but it seems the car stood out in the end. In my opinion, BaT should limit comments to people who actually place a bid or at least a known reputation. Mike

Spring trip to Japan
Hi all, just wanted to post some status of my trip to Japan. I was able to meet @kats and we took a drive in his Fairlady Z432. Man what a great car! It’s in great shape and Kats knows how to take car of his cars. We met in Kyoto as I arrived, with my family, to our hotel. Kats lives about 30 minutes away from Kyoto and drove the car up just to visit with me. He has 4 Z’s and asked me which one I wanted to see (and drive). Since I’ve never seen a Z432, it was an obvious choice. We spent about 20-30 minutes ogling the car before he let me drive it around the block. I don’t have an international drivers license, so he took the controls and we went for an extended drive around the city. I’ll post more about my observations when I am able to sit down at a computer, but I wanted to share a few pics. What a great time, and I wanted to personally thank Kats for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with me. As you can see, it’s springtime in japan and the cherry blossoms are in full effect!

Wow I haven’t checked in awhile but it certainly turned init a soap opera. Who’s going to swoop in and buy? Knowing the risks, it still may be a good opportunity.

Issues with mobile app
If we get enough people to use it, I'll bring the app back to life... on average, it's about $300 a year in costs... (not including my programming time) I've been trying to evaluate different ways to reduce costs (and raise funding, of course) for the long term ?

Issues with mobile app
Tapatalk is good for basic integration to the site (the same was true about our mobile app). But, the full effect is to use the webpage directly. How is it working for you? I don't interact with the site much on mobile devices. That trend seems to be changing though...

Issues with mobile app
By the way, if this is too much of a pain please let me know. The reasons we are stepping away from our own branded app are due to updates and cost. The application required a monthly obligation (on my part) and the development was getting expensive to maintain (Apple and Google both have annual developer fees). Requirements are changing just about every year and it also takes a lot of time to catch up and keep it active. From what I saw, we have less than 10 people using it and the investment didn't make much sense. Our website also works in a mobile web browser just fine too. It was designed to scale automatically to fit any device (responsive design). Native notifications are also on the way, even without an application.

Issues with mobile app
Hey @Mike W, we are moving away from publishing our own app. If you are looking for something to keep in touch on your mobile device you can connect using your mobile browser or there are 3rd party apps that can connect as well. Do a search in your app store of choice for "Tapatalk" and it will give you the option to add our site. Mike

Possible trip to Japan (Tokyo) - Suggestions?
Oooo! Nice idea. We are planning to stay a few days in Hakone, which looks to be very close. Thanks! Is that a real place? Couldn't find it on Google Maps. Great ideas.. I'll definitely look at the MK Taxi tour. We will have 2-3 days in Kyoto. The boat ride also looks awesome. Thanks for the ideas, guys!

Possible trip to Japan (Tokyo) - Suggestions?
Haven't updated this in awhile. But, our trip to Japan is coming soon and we can't wait! I'll be meeting with Kats and taking a look at his Z432. Not sure if we have time for a hike up Fuji, but, we will be staying near the mountain for a few nights. It will be a long two weeks, but, we plan to fly into Tokyo and head SW to Kyoto for a few nights. I'll be sure to get some pics with Kats (and his car) to share on the site! Mike
