Facebook vs Forums
Good topic. From what I've experienced, Facebook is designed mainly for social activity. They are funded by selling your information and usage statistics to other companies and advertising. It's designed mainly for social activities and short-term (surface level) gain. Forums used to focus on social activity, but the big guys have given this to the masses. Since this shift has occurred, the forum sites have moved to long-term support, deeper relationships, and archival for the community. At one time I worried about the social media sites, but, now I am glad they have taken all the riff-raff and so we get to focus on more important issues. Facebook does have its place, of course. It just doesn't work for a car club, other than announcing events and keeping in touch. If you want a deep relationship and real help, join the forum. Mike

What would you pay
Buy and drive it, my friend. Not sure how much you'd get on the flip, but, this is a car that you could pick up for $1,500-$2,000 and enjoy. Do the checks to make sure it's mechanically sound, of course.

1978 280z back fire
Hi Diego, a blown engine would have blue smoke if oil is getting into the cylinders. Have you run a compression check on it?

Looks like they have it already organized. I'd be curious to know if it works or looks aftermarket. Anyone going to take the plunge and give it a try? Looks like it's around $22 bucks.. https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/shopby/1971/nissan/240z/base/ m

Star Wars Fanatic
So, I'm pretty damn excited for the next Star Wars movie: The Last Jedi. I like how modern movies are taking things to a more realistic level where you can relate to the characters, just like the original series... You've probably seen the trailer, but, if not, here you go:

Dash cracks
Replacement dashboards are very hard to find, if not impossible. If you did find one they would cost in the neighborhood of $1,000 - 2,000 or higher. You can try for a used one, but, it will just crack again. I used to know of a place that re-builds dashes, I think it was called Just Dashes. Oh, yes here it is: http://www.justdashes.com/services/imports/ I have no current experience with the new management, but, I do remember some people said they did a good job. I don't know how much they charge, sorry..

1972 in SoCal - Valley Village
Found this tonight on facebook. $36,500 collector owned it says... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/6319387030.html 1972 DATSUN 240Z. 4- speed. Senior owned. Sold new at Forest Datsun in Redwood City California. THE original dealer stamped sales brochure included, with original manual, documents and dealer maintenance credit card. 100% original Persimmon Red paint. Yes, 100% front to rear, top to bottom. Never damaged. Fully detailed. Collector owned. Smog equipment removed long ago and saved for posterity. Unrestored Bone Stock California car in absolute garage kept immaculate condition. Documented professional engine rebuild less than 1,000 miles ago, circa 2000. The Mechanical Engineer original owner was a fanatic on checking compression and ultimately decided the engine was becoming tired, resulting in precautionary rebuild. Once again, all documented in depth photographically with applicable receipts. His Peterbilt Truck design department parking garage decal remains on the rear bumper. Runs and drives as well as it presents. Fresh Vredestein radial tires. New exhaust. Seeing is believing. Still has new Z smell. All concise documents and maintenance log since new. I am the second owner. Titled in my name, current registration. Clear title. Not into stories, car is for sale. Take care, Rick

Kamka-Z Resurrection
Check the plugs and the fuel filter. You may need to change the filter if you put fresh gas in an empty tank (rust or corrosion build up). Also check to make sure your fuel lines aren’t brittle because a fuel leak can be dangerous. You may want to change the oil and the filter. On first start make sure you have oil pressure. Oh, this is bad... if this is the service feed to the neighborhood then it's likely running at a very high current. If it's sitting in water it can be even more dangerous. It's likely the power is shut off but I'd stay far away from that cable...

That looks like a ground wire (no shielding). Definitely want to get that fixed.. Edit: I just noticed the arc'ing pits.. wow, that must have caused some serious sparks. Hope the electrical equipment in your house is ok.
