Hi guys, just wanted to catch up on this thread. Blue actually mentioned that he's going to take a break from the Internet (as a whole) for awhile. We checked in and he's working on a few real-world projects to keep him busy. I suspect he may be back after the work is done. As far as this thread, please keep it civil and try not to get into flame wars. We aren't that kind of site. People come to this site to be constructive while we leave the flame wars to the other sites. Thanks. m

Looks like it may have to do with timing. From what I understand, you can paste the link, but, it takes a few seconds for it to resolve with YouTube and create the embedded player automatically. If you click submit before the process finishes, then you'll see only a link. I made a change to the server to allow more buffer time before it updates, so, this problems should be reduced. On your side, please give it a few seconds to load the video before you submit the post to the forum and you may see this start working better.

Hmm, doesn't look like a permissions limitation in the user-group. Both long URL (copied from the URL bar) and the short URL (from the share link on Youtube) both seemed to work. The embed code didn't work but isn't what we are testing. I've got this escalated to see what I can do to fix it...

yea, I am seeing only links when you post these. It "should" be converting the link to an embedded player right after you paste it. Not sure why it's not working for just your account (it looks like). I'm going to try and do this from one of my standard user accounts to see if it's a permissions thing. m

Ok, looks like it's working. But, @bartsscooterservice seems to be doing something that is causing only links to show up. I'll have to understand his setup and process to post these links.

This is also embedding the player, for me at least.

Looks like this is embedding the player for me if I use the standard reply box. Can some of you guys try it out and let me know how you copied the link? Make sure that "Source" is not selected in the upper left of your reply window.
