Video: Brock Racing Enterprises ( BRE ) Reunion Dinner
Experience the BRE Reunion ! In the Fall of 2008, BRE (Brock Racing Enterprise) team members reconnected in mass for the first time since the end of the 1972 race season. The BRE team changed the perception of Japanese cars as they won the SCCA D Production Pacific Coast Championship in 1969 with the BRE Datsun 2000 Roadster, the C Production Championships in 1970 and 71 with the BRE Datsun 240Z and won the professional Trans-Am 2.5 series Championships in 1971 and 72 with the BRE Datsun 510s. If you want to hear insider stories of what it was like to be on the BRE team and some of the crazy things that happened, you can get a two hour DVD of the reunion at www.bre2.net. Also a favorite moment of the night was when each team member shared what they are doing today. Don't miss it!

Awesome raw video from the meteor in Russia
After seeing many of the edited versions of the meteor that hit Russia, I decided to go on a search for high resolution images and some uncut raw video of the incident. What we have here is a VERY close call! How ironic that it happens around the same time a larger asteroid just about hits the earth later in the day?! The chances of having an impact with injuries on the same day as DA14 are beyond astronomical. Enjoy. Guess the year of the Z in this photo...
Hmm... it doesn't have the big bumpers, so, it's not a late model car. And it doesn't have the vents underneath the hatch glass, so it's not a rare early car. Judging by the bumper, it's probably a '71, '72, or '73. Then again, it could be a late model car that someone replaced the bumpers. Why don't you knock on the door and ask? m

The sudden death of my closest friend Enrique Scanlon (EScanlon)
Thanks Gary. Enrique was a big help around the club as well as a good friend of mine as well. He helped several times with my Z and showed me many different ways I could improve the website. We had many discussions over the phone about establishing an easier to understand user policy and was directly involved in helping many of the members of this website with their own personal car projects. He was a valuable asset to the Z community as well as someone I could count on. Enqrique also purchased a '68 Datsun Roadster from me many years ago in order to restore it for his wife. During the summer, we would spend hours talking about restoration techniques and walked slowly around the shows together critiquing other cars. Enrique always made me feel like I was important and he always had new and fresh ideas about how to improve the way we look at these vehicles. I will miss him. A toast to Enrique!

I need an enclosed carhauler 18 to 20 feet
Hi Carl, looks like it was a sneaky ad. We deleted the post, but, it's good to start talking about car haulers again. FYI, car haulers are more than welcome to advertise in our classifieds, just not our forums. Are you going to post some photos of your trailer? m

I hate this and it sucks!
I've been seeing quite a trend in magazine businesses over the past few years. As an example, we received a last issue of Newsweek Magazine the other day. On the front cover, they said this it the last issue, ever. So, if it's not feasible for a huge magazine with an 80-year history to continue printing magazines, I seriously doubt a small specialty magazine will make it much further. The NY Post has a great article about it. Most magazines are looking at online publications due to the lower costs and mainstream media changes. You can still download Newsweek on your iPad, Kindle, or other mobile device. We are seeing a HUGE change in the way we look at published material. Just look at what happened with Borders Bookstores. Like it or not, I predict there will be a time where all printed magazines will go away. All of us will end up having a mobile device to read. m

New classifieds
No real emperical data, sorry. The new ad system cost me nearly $1,500 to build and probably 80+ hours of fun. So, I'll probably stick with the new one for a bit. If you let me know how to improve it, I am all ears. The old classifieds did bring in more banner ad money though... for that reason I might just go back. ha I really encourage you to try using the new site a bit more if you can. I know it's something new, but, it has a lot more features that give you the ability to sell products easier. If you have a lot of products, it can also be set up to give you a dedicate page (URL) with your stuff listed. My favorite feature is the "save as PDF" where you can save all of your favorite ads to PDF files for printing or saving later on. , I had to read that one a few times to get what you meant... hahaha, funny as hell after you know what a tranny is (not the car part)
