Hydrogen Z?
No, unfortunately I didn't get his name or contact information. I gave him the domain name to our club, so I am hoping he joins. I would really like to understand how he did that. Our paths crossing was a huge coincidence and the only reason I stopped to talk with him was due to our shopping at Home Depot. I saw his yellow 240z and decided to invite him to the club. This is a university town, so, I wouldn't be surprised if he was an intellectual that probably works at Oregon State University. Believe it or not, we do have a nuclear reactor on campus, so, I know there has got to be a few chemical engineers around. Damn, now I really wish I traded info with him. m

Hydrogen Z?
I ran into a guy today in Corvallis, OR who has a 240z running on Hydrogen. I introduced myself and asked him to come and visit the club. Anyway, the brief conversation I had with him was interesting. He popped his hood and showed me some kind of container that looked like a water filter connected to the intake on the engine. The whole conversation lasted about 5-10 minutes but I would like to know more about this kind of modification. He also mentioned a hydrogen fuel cell in the car. But, I was thinking the whole time this must be some kind of fuel cell technology? Separation of the hydrogen from the oxygen (ie: water car). I don't know much about it, but, when he took me to the back of the car, he put his hand up to the tail pipe and commented on the low temperature and the fact that only water vapor comes out.... Anyone here have experience or know of this kind of mod for a car? Or, better yet, maybe he joined the club and can tell us more about his modification? Mike

Studebaker Avanti in PDX
Hi guys, I ran into this beauty in Portland, Oregon. While I was outside snapping a few photos, the owner walks out of his shop to chat. From what he tells me, parts of the Studebaker Avanti were ideas shared with Datsun. In fact, he tells me the front and rear marker lights are actual parts from a Datsun 510. Does anyone know if there are other parts of this car that were derived from Datsun? I found this to be a very cool looking car in original condition. The guy told me his father purchased the car new and has owned it ever since. He ended up with the car after his parents divorced. Apparently his mom got pretty angry at his father and proceeded to make "art" on the front hood. I asked him if he was going to paint it and he said, "No, it reminds me of the good ol' days to keep it all like this..." Any other Avanti fans out there? I'm a new one...

Don't buy hood from Black Dragon!!!
Reproduction body panels aren't the same and I would stay far away from them if you can. I purchased a set of new fenders from Nissan years ago and although they were direct from the manufacturer, they still needed some major tweaking to fit right.

Best Camera Setup for Z Cars
I'm considering the purchase of a good camera setup, ie: DSLR with interchangeable lenses. How many of you are into photography? After pondering the whole Canon/Nikon thing, I think I'm going for a Canon. But, my question is probably more suited toward the lens choices. If you are at a show, what kind of lens setup do you like? Would you spring for the f2.8 or go with something less expensive like the f4 's? I've been looking at the Canon 7d, but, have been holding off until I hear about their new model coming out by the end of the year. I could spring for a 5d, but, don't really want to spend that kind of money right now. Anyway, what do you guys use or think? Mike

BTW, Victor used to be one of our site moderators. He helped out quite a bit back in the day. He was also a fellow Cowboy Bebop fan (hence his avatar of Faye). :0
