  1. You and me both!! j/k I guess you could just run the search again... But, it's not a bad idea I'll see if I can add a link to the listing to go back to a sort by date... Oh, this is a new one to me. Let me see if there's a way to force it to date on a per user basis. Do you have an option for that in your user settings? Yea, it's a paid upgrade, I think it's a buck fifty to put your ad on top. I selected a few of the old ones and gave them free upgrades, which is why you see them listed as featured ads. I've been considering the removal of "Featured Ads" actually... there is not going to be enough revenue to justify the confusion behind it...... hmm... Yes... no problem! I'm glad we can provide a service like this. It's been fun programming it anyway... I apprecite your interaction and constructive criticism and will be making a few changes to http://datsunclassifieds.com over the next few days.. m
  2. Your welcome. By default all search results are sorted by posting date, newest first. However, the "Featured" ads are always shown first in the list (highlighted with a yellowish background). Then standard listings are shown... I removed the map until we get more posts. The problem is our old software didn't have a location field so none of the legacy ads were showing up on the map. m
  3. az240z, it looks like there are a limited number of users who cannot log in for some reason. I'm looking into the database to see why this is the case.... It seems to be a problem for some of the imported users. I'm still trying to find out why it's only a select few of the users.
  4. Yes, me. I put the entire new classified system together in my free time. FYI, I'm reading the thread and will take every recommendation into consideration. I especially like the comments about how to make the classifieds easier to use. Usability isn't always the top priority when trying to make something work but it was a major consideration when putting this together. Layout, process, search results, organization is all pretty flexible.
  5. I think you mean the new classifieds are SICK!!
  6. Hi Taz, do you like the mobile version? I've been considering removing it because I don't like using it on my iPad. I didn't realize some users may want to use it on their phones... Let me know what you think. It doesn't take me any extra time to keep it online because it's a simple flag in my code.
  7. Hey E, how is the little roadster I sold you coming along? We had a brief discussion over the summer but I want to see some pics man.. how's she doin? m
  8. Jerry, sounds a lot like something in the transmission to me. Did you inspect all of the gears or have the transmission rebuilt? m
  9. Nice addition to the family, Mitchell. I liked the X6 body style when they were first introduced. Black is definitely the way to go...

Spoken like a true artist... keep us posted on your progress... Do you need any more measurements?
  11. OJ, I merged the two threads about your cars ("am I sick" and "updated pictures") into this one. Thanks, Mike
  12. Congrats Julio!! I like the idea of creating the Z-Masons like Blue suggested a few months ago. We are all here for each other and our Z family certainly keeps me going when I need it. Of course that's when I'm not moderating posts. .
  13. I'd say she is probably going to be with similar daily drivers in the same condition. You can use ebay as a basis because there are a lot of z's to look at. But I'd also take a look at Craigslist in CA. CA has the most Z's by far and you'll get a good idea of what other people are looking at if they are shopping. You can also see some pretty nice examples at out classifieds site here: http://datsunclassifieds.com Just guessing, based on the photos and no hidden problems, she looks to me about 5k-range. Above that we would have to see more detail and if the car is in primo shape you can see prices up to 15-20k. Of course if you want that kind of money the car would need to be stock and delivered with some good papers. Again it all "depends" on the story of the car and the available history. M

Wow, impressive work! Glad to see you sticking to the project and pulling through the difficult rear area of the car. I'm sure this wasn't easy to design. How much further do you have to go?
  15. If you replace it, beware that your piston length may be different. I remember doing this quite a number of years ago and used a later model booster. I quickly discovered the piston length difference when my brakes didn't work !! Anyway, my point is to make sure you buy both the booster and the piston if you end up replacing it.
  16. Wow, nice car but a bit on the expensive side. It is in the San Francisco area so I'm sure there are a lot of wealthy people who may jump on it. OJ, this does look like your car! Are you sure it's not your car and the guy just marked it up? Hey Ed, I don't believe we have seen your car. If it's a close match, you should at least put some pictures up in your gallery or in your garage on this site. Would love to see it. I'm a big fan of both Yellow and Orange Z's.
  17. Nice looking car, JR. Ad looks great and the link to the photos are working well for the close up photos. Interesting sunroof, don't think I've seen one done that well yet. The fact that it's power is also pretty awesome. Do you have any photos of the headliner and switch you can share with us before she sells?
  18. Thanks for sharing Taz, here's a link on our site to a pretty informative thread about this subject. Awesome stuff!! http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread47445.html Closing this thread, please reply in the above link. Thanks guys.. Mike
  19. Why are you selling her?
  20. I think a Z is still a Z as long as it has a period correct engine in it.
  21. If the rust is bad, you'll want to drill out the spot welds on the tray and take it completely out. This way you can sand and prepare the surface correctly. When you are ready you can weld the tray back in, making sure all of the rust is gone.

Pictures? I'll have to go check on this today. I picked one up last year in Yellow. My son LOVES the color orange so I'll have to go find that for him..
  23. And, of course I cannot forget one of the most famous Z commercials of all time. Dale shows up at the tail end of the ad. <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/L8QKK5IDSXE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  24. Awesome photos of the two guys together! Dale even has the Jack Russell with him.... perfect. I wonder where the dog is these days. Also, we need some long-term-living hints from Mr Katayama. Isn't Mr K near in his late 90's by now?
  25. I've always wondered who was in the Nissan commercials during the last 90's. You guys will remember the actor from the "Dream Garage" commercial. <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PRSiO_98pMU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Well, tonight I spent a few minutes doing some research about this guy. Many people mistakenly thought it was the actual Katayama, but, alas it is not. The actor is Dale Ishimoto and is well known for many truck commercials by Nissan. He started the famous catch phrase "Dogs Love Trucks!" as seen in a few more ads below. My original intent (in searching for Dale) was to see if we could hire him for a small video on the site, but, unfortunately he passed away at age 80 in 2004. Enjoy the research and be sure to post more info if you've got it! You can find some additional information about him on Wikipedia and believe it or not, he was in many movies shown at the iMDb website. Here are a few more of his commercials: <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KGky6X4qfPU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yuoUD9fOk5U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1XCKSXvhbQU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
