  1. Sorry about the car! It's tough to go through something like that... I know.. Most insurance rates drop at 21 and even more at 25. If you get married they will also drop. So, unless you get married, you will have to wait a few more years. $995 isn't much money. You could sell some of the parts on the net and make some of that back. But, if you think about the cost of most new cars, that is a cheap deal. I know that's hard to hear being 19.... But, you might want to call your insurance agent and ask him. He will be able to tell you the truth about your insurance future related to this claim. Think of it this way, it's just a $1,000 car. You are safe, nobody you know got hurt, and things are just a bit frustrating. Take this as the best opportunity to figure out how to get the LEAST amount of loss for the LEAST amount of time. Then again, you might have a ton of time on your hands.... -- Mike
  2. Hi guys... good topic. At least it isn't the famous "should we allow ZX posts in here" topic.. I'm all for a "other datsun" forum if it will be used. The only thing I don't like is creating something based on an idea and then seeing it never get used. We own this server, so, if you guys want to create even a totally separate website, I can do it. Of course, whatever happens I will need help with either a forum moderator or a site facilitator. I suggest a forum to start with... if the demand increases we can move it out to a different website. -- Mike

Plate height is the distance from the floor to the top of the wall framing. I'm not sure how you build in Aus, but, we usually use a single bottom horizontal wood piece and two top "plates" (or top horizontal wood pieces). The roof framing (or 2nd floor framing) sits on top of these plates. Simply put, it's the distance from your floor to your ceiling on the INSIDE of the structure. I design houses on the side. -- Mike

Go with at least a 9 foot high plate-height (ceiling). Insulate all the walls (& ceiling), put in plasterboard, and install a good heater. Maybe consider a furnace of some kind. Of course, the heater might not be needed in Perth.

This one should knock the socks off the "Boobs" thread I started a few years ago. Thanks to 'you know who' -- who sent this to me. This link contains a picture of boobs. If you move your mouse over it, they will move around. :tapemouth If you are offended by this material, or are underage, please don't click on the link. Is that enough text to cover it ? Have some fun!! Pure LOVE!! CLICK HERE Pick your size. CLICK HERE

Go to http://www.google.com and type in the search phrase miserable failure and what's the first thing that comes up? Pretty funny, eh? == M
  11. Nice! Where can I get a copy here in Oregon?

  13. Yea, that's a violation of copyright if it doesn't belong to the artist. He donated that picture to us a long time ago. But, he should also keep in mind that the car photo was taken from here and the girls were part of a Playboy (?) or beer ad. -m
  14. Gema, can you get ANY of the old connectors ? Ie, if someone wanted to keep their existing harness and replace the connectors, are they even available from Nissan? What, in the form of wiring, *IS* available?
  15. You guys sure talk a lot of smack and don't have anything to back it up. Just remember that not everybody is in this game for the fastest quarter mile. He did an excellent job on the engine, chrome, and fancy stuff like that. If it wasn't for the ugly flames, that car would be pretty damn sweet (to me). A prime example is in the latest Sport Z magazine. There's a feature on a 300ZX with a bunch of tuck-n-roll interior work, custom stereo, gawdy paint job, and slammed to the ground... While I don't prefer that kind of ride, I must remember that guy spent a lot of time, money, and pride on the job he did. That's the kind of stuff I appreciate more these days. When someone spends a lot of effort on something, I like to recognize that for what it's worth. Seems like it's a lot easier to tear something down than it is to build it up....
  16. You'd be gettin a spankin right now if it wasn't so damn TRUE!! Haha.... good one. My car rarely sees the light. In fact, it rarely sees me anymore. That's what women do to a car project.
  17. Yea, that or he doesn't know how to drive it right .... ? A car with that much invested, I'd have a tendency to baby it too. -- M
  18. Does anyone know how much he has invested into the car? My figure was a guess.... .... nevermind, just found the quote from his Ebay ad: Why isn't this guy an active member of our club?
  19. Starting bid is $12k. Not bad considering he probably has $30k into it....
  20. Pretty sure I saw that Z at the MSA show.... Nice ride.

Here's one of a few gals taking a pose with some of the fans. Just missed the money shot on this one... guess I was too slow.
