How many of you are planning to attend a Z event this year? Any Zcar get-together, show, or race counts... let us know which one!!

I'm in the PAC NW. I'm just South of Salem, so, a Portland meeting is fine with me. If we did a Portland meeting, maybe some of the people in Washington could attend? It would be fun to do this a few times a year. I've noticed that there are quite a few Z-car people here in the NW, but, things just aren't that organized. Every year there is a small get-together up near the Columbia river, but, that is usually swamped with Roadster owners. You guys want to get something going? We can use this site to attract attention to it. I've always thought it would be fun to set up a huge Zcar event like the MSA show, but, I don't have the resources like they do. I think it has to start as small get-togethers and then blow up from there. -- M PS: I also asked people about a NW Zcar Drive (tour) a few years ago and had quite a response.

Depending on the type of backfire... I only know of two ways it can affect your engine system. If the backfire comes out of the carbs, it can cause excess strain on the carb mechanisms and loosen things up. Not to mention that it will cause fouling. Backfire through the exhaust can be hell on your muffler. I had extensive backfire after rebuilding an engine some time ago... the backfiring screwed up my muffler so bad I could see 'bulging' of the metal. I had some pretty bad backfires going through it before I discovered that my timing sprocket (under the distributor) was put in 180 degrees off! BAM BAM BAM!! Loud as hell..... muffler is dead. Anyway, depending on the backfire you can cause different types of problems.

Hi Bonnie, I'm assuming you have a building or garage in mind? Next, what kind of work will you need to do? Doing general maintenance is a lot different than pulling engines, rebuilding transmissions/rear-ends, etc..... If you can see where I'm going... this is an open-ended question. Some people spend $10,000 while others spend $1,000. I've even seen people (cough... 2manyZ's... cough) who assemble whole buildings just for their Zcar projects. [m]

Ever come to the realization that everything you think is actually wrong and only encouraged by what they want you to think? Think about it. I will be the first to admit that my assumptions have been wrong. Most of them are created by watching the news, listening to radio, and watching movies. Now, I try not to assume anything until I study the topic. I wouldn't be surprised if John Denver and Mr. Rogers used to be into that kind of thing. It's the NORMAL people I don't trust. Point? Wear 'who you are' on your sleeve for everyone to see!

I'm not a big fan of the ZX, but, you have a nice one there! The blend of shiny paint, t-tops, and those Centerline wheels are PERFECT!! I've always wanted those wheels on my 240z. Don't let these guys give you too much $^!# about the ZX here on the site. You've been around for awhile and are considered part of the family. Have fun with it! -- Mike

Prices went down about $.20 in a week!! I paid $1.69 today for regular. (located in Oregon)

Ha! But, ever heard of the 'expenses' virus? It can't be fixed without at least installing the 'work' virus first. Totally sucks. But, if you get one, the other is necessary to remove it totally. Man, I'd love to get the 'retirement' virus. Apparently, that virus is slow moving and doesn't do that much damage.

How much for the chop-top truck (top one)? Err... or how about prices for each?

I'm not sure if the existing system will support that kind of bulb or not. When my car was running, I noticed that it had the similar headlight 'dim' associated with many other Z's. It was especially bad when I was younger and ran a high-voltage stereo system in my car. Times have changed for me and the car is sitting in the garage. But, I would consider upgrading the system because it would be pretty easy to do. Installing relays for the headlights can make a world-of-difference. -- Mike

Those logos (on the images) suggest that it's an engineering company that probably has the resources to do this kind of thing. I would give my left nut to have that kind of fun!

Can you still buy new fuse boxes? I had one ordered many years ago and I never went to pick it up. Poor college student, was I.

Bingo... :cheeky: We all have differences of opinion. I like to see discussions where people present an opinion and provide possible solutions.

This is probably the one place where you won't get flamed for being a newbie. We've all been there. And, I respect the fact that you saved up your own cash instead of relying on your parents... makes you respect your car a little better. And, besides.... if someone flames you... I'll go after them.

Where do you get that idea? Bush asked the UN to be part of the war. They declined. Oil might be a part of the deal, but, it's not the ONLY reason. Read my sentence more carefully.
