Welcome to the site! I used to own a 2+2 and it was great for putting the kiddo in the back seat. The car is a bit heavier than the 2-seater so don't expect to win any races with it. But, it's a Z and fun to drive. You are in the right location to find a clean one. Just make sure the car came from the southern part of the USA and has no rust. Don't forget to post a few pics of your new toy when you pick it up! I found a few decent 2+2's on Ebay but this one stood out. It looks like she's from an estate sale with only 55k miles and located in CA. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-2-2-/272352519515?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3f6979a55b:g:xAAAAOSwdzVXvp--&item=272352519515

The Internet Archive is a good idea, but, it typically doesn't archive images or deep links. If @Blue sends me the website code, I can host it on our servers with his own custom domain. Or better yet, we can give Blue a website within our pages. Just let me know...

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope you are OK. Such a tragedy when this happens, especially to someone who took such good care of the car. Good luck with your venture to find another car and the future of this little gem.

I'm not sure all criminals would be that smart. But, anything is possible I guess. However, getting back to the original title of this thread... theft prevention. A GPS device would likely be considered theft recovery. To prevent a theft, I typically remove the coil wire and take it with me. A more sophisticated solution would be to install a keyed ignition shutoff and alarm. When I was younger I used "The Club" but that can easily be removed. The best way, IMHO, is to set it up so the thief cannot start the car. But, then again anything is possible if a thief really wants your car. Maybe we should rename this thread to "Theft Deterrent"...

As I look at this further, the Spot Trace seems to be promising. It has a movement alert system and will notify you in the case your car is moved or if the device is powered off. $119 plus $100 per year service. Reviews aren't bad either.. Amazon.com

There are a variety of GPS trackers out there now. Amazon.com has quite a few in their lineup. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=vehicle+gps+tracker&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Avehicle+gps+tracker I do some of this for work and discovered that Verizon has a fleet tracking and there are some others as well. Verizon's system is designed for the newer ODBC ports on cars, but, there are other services that do not require this technology (I believe 1996 and newer cars are required). There's no need to pay for a full service phone data plan because some of these vendors only need 3G speeds to track equipment. The GPS positioning is a small amount of data. Check out these sites: http://intouchgps.com/ http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/category/gps+tracking/vehicle+tracking+devices.do?campaign=131796383&adgroup=5472063743&keyword=car tracking service&network=g&adposition=1t3&gclid=Cj0KEQjw_9-9BRCqpZeZhLeOg68BEiQAOviWAl1eBuKAsHrRrMvOMy7YPoL-A5GIgrTblz4jVUTA09EaAvUu8P8HAQ Or just do a search on Google.com for "car tracking services" https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=car tracking services If you don't want to be bound by cellular, you can always use a satellite based system like the Spot Tracker: http://www.findmespot.com/en/ Spot was used for many different rally races across the world. Tons of options available out there. m

I'll host it for @Blue for no fees... as long as he can still get to his data. (or he could be working on it)
  19. As they say, it's better to be pissed off than pissed on...
  20. I saw it on the west coast. Thank god I didn't see your post until afterward. But I wasn't too surprised of the outcome anyway.
  21. Are you looking for original NOS or used? There are several aftermarket kits but that won't help if you are looking for the real deal (if you can still find a set).
  22. Yep, it's called a Lojack. http://www.lojack.com/
