Best of luck with your FI project Steve! Watching with much interest....

Incredibly Clean & Original 1973 240Z on BaT
As time went on in 73, I believe the asbestos (Zup has mentioned it was indeed asbestos) heat wrap transitioned from the dealer installation to factory. Zup replaced the heat wrap with a more modern equivalent because it had deteriorated and became crumbly over 40 plus years with no way to restore it.

[2019] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Traced recent intermittent passenger side chirping / squeaky noise to half shaft u joint. Replaced all yesterday. My nice neighbor across the street let me use his lift for the job. I'll have to get one of those one day! Will be using his lift when my shipment from France / Zstory gets here next week. That will be a very fun project! Also continued on with prep & some paint chip touchup for Zcon.

Coolant Temperature High?
Are you certain the new coolant was a 50 50 mix? Antifreeze does not dissipate heat as well as water / antifreeze. Heater temp control at max hot when you circulated the new coolant?

vintage dashes 280z
I sincerely hope that all works out well with the 280 dashes, ( I need one myself) however .... there is a big discrepancy in information between post #68 and #74 in less than 24 hours. Also, it seems to me that it would only take an hour or two to check some the the shipment and see if they are indeed acceptable to fulfill customer orders.

Updates to the ZCCA Car Show Judging Rules
@bpilati has been a ZCCA judge. Possibly he could weigh in with an opinion on the rules.

Updates to the ZCCA Car Show Judging Rules
I agree with Bruce ... and I regard his opinion highly! Be it beer or automotive engineering. The judging rules need an update (I know the judges are mostly unpaid volunteers) for instance, there is no "survivor" class. A true unmolested 40k miles 240 / 280z gets to compete with a full on restoration where everything is refreshed or brought up to as new standards. Not exactly a fair playing field. I know that Zup got dinged for his replacement of the fuel line insulation with a modern equivalent vs the original asbestos stuff.

Testing oil pressure sender.
I think you will need 1/8 BSPT, not metric. Probably came with NPT fitting.

Picked up a couple of hard to find parts recently
@Zup I think Zup acquired one of those nos pumps for his 73 not too long ago. Maybe he can shed some light on the source.

Complete Misfire on Three Cylinders
Wow. must have been weakened from those 10,000 rpm shift points of your spirited driving . Only thing I can think of is a bearing froze after the break or a flaw in the metal that decided that was the time to let go.

Tires, Tires, Tyres
Of the tires you posted Mike, I vote for the Yokohama S-drive. One of our club members has them on 2 cars and loves them. I also lean toward tires from Japan on a car manufactured in Japan.

How many clamps does it take to get the headliner trim held in place? ............. Answer ... Many..... Been working lately on trying to get finished and drive-able local nwacc member & club president Scott M's super nice Black Pearl car. Nice to work on a car where dirt & grease have been banned everywhere ....

They are notorious for leaking when they get old. Time for a new one. ZcarDepot or MSA have them.

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
It would be smart to replace all 6 as a matched set unless the budget does not allow it. To get to one, you have access to all at that time. Renews all the seals & the short fuel lines. The Ebay set looks good to me, price wise and they are Nissan. My 2 cents.
