Dummy Flashing Alarm LEDs
I think he means disabling the ignition when the led blinker circuit is active.

Refreshing an old 280Z's EFI
The fasteners are 40 years old, exercise caution. I would not be surprised if one or two of the manifold studs are not already broken off. (number one & six) Upgrade Blaster to Kano Kroil and let it sit. The header will look nice, probably not a noticeable gain.

Dummy Flashing Alarm LEDs
I agree, a small amount. A hidden kill switch on a fuel pump relay is a better overall solution.

Sat for 10+ yrs
The second photo is the fuel pump damper, the pump relays are in 2 locations. One is above the ECU (driver side kick panel) the other place is in the engine bay, passenger side, behind the cover where the fusible links are. Look at one of SteveJ's posts, in his signature is a link for the shop manual and other important info. Best of luck & welcome.

HELP PLEASE
The Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor is on the rear passenger side of the head between #5 &6. Zed is right, just across from the battery area. ECCS is Nissan's Electronic Computer Control System. (To keep things straight for the OP, only the turbo models had the ECCS system, I think Zed was referring to the ECU connector for the stock NA ZX factory setup)

Project Boondoggle (or, so I went and bought a Z!)
I too was curious if he used FI rated line. Rated for over 200psi vs about 50 for the carb line. Purchased some Gates FI line at NAPA 3 or 4 years ago, was surprised when the counter guy handed me the cheap gear clamps to go with the line. Had to explain to him the difference between the FI clamps & the cheap ones. He thanked me.

72 240Z on Mecum's auction today
Most auction houses in my experience will go to the "backup bidder" once the seller waives the reserve. In this case, $55k. You may have been lucky that they passed on it. Also, the buyer premium thievery of 6 to 10% is added to the final price.

The BPR5's are a hotter, resistor plug. If you are happy with the way the current plugs look when you have examined them, why rock the boat ...

1976 Clock
Nice job Dave. I have a few z clocks I might take a look at one day. Like your quality Simpson vom, I used the same meter years ago at work to set up AGC circuits in cable tv RF amplifiers.

[2017] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Here is Zup's Garage radio lab video. There was a problem with the original file name. This one is destined for his 7/70 car I believe. A fun day in the Zup garage ....

Heater core question
Be careful what you wish for Captain, Zup probably has 10 of them - only outdone by rear sway bars & flat top carbs.

Anybody know he amperage of the fusible links? (80 280zx)
As far as I know .... Brown 20 amps 0.30mm² which completes the list. Additionally, I converted to a Mini ANL fuse block, which I think is the same one that Mike W used in his car, and it has performed well for about 3 years now.
