  1. Are you asking because you are switching the fusible links out for Maxifuse's or something similar? (Don't know what your "swap out to circuit" means) Here are the standard fusible link current ratings: Pink 30 amp Green 40 amps 0.50mm² Red 50 amps 0.69mm² Yellow 60 amps Black 80 amps 1.25mm² Blue 100 amps
  2. Very nice! Three Z cars sitting together in that garage. Could the 300 a twin turbo?
  3. I thought it would bring a few thousand more, but considering it was not restored back to pure stock form & was missing a few bits and pieces ( door sill scuff plates, original radio, gas cap flap etc. ) it did well. I think the black undercoating and possibly being sold very close to Christmas hurt it.

Mike W did a write up a little while back on the Suaoki mini ultra portable booster packs. Myself, Zup & 2 friends have bought one since.

The pressure should be the same throughout the system. When you pressure test it, the system should be cold, and don't pressurize it beyond 13 or 14 lbs. (normal system pressure)
  6. SOLD for $560k Reserve met. A seemingly incredible deal for the buyer. The fees from a big auction house avoided by both parties. New record for Bat.

http://eugene.craigslist.org/pts/5918942325.html In Oregon, no listed price, unusual to see so many from one seller.
  8. This might be one of those cases where rubber is better that poly for a street car. The polurethane ones transmit too much road feedback thru the steering column. The oem ones I am guessing are NLA.
  9. There have been a number of the last year 240's on the market lately. That year is the most difficult to bring back to factory original. The market is strong right now for the classic Datsun's on BAT. The vast majority of the 73's are no longer running the smog pump I believe. The silver one on the right, I consider very desirable & in the year and a half it has been in the spotlight, has done very well for itself at a few shows. I know what you are saying though - I think all the S30's are getting a lot of attention from the collector car community now.
  10. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-20/ A dealer on Seattle's east side is selling it. Right in Mike's area, maybe he will check it out. Has some mod's, new set of what looks like Futofab's bumpers. Already at 16k / be interesting to see what this one brings.

A 73 Tree Forty. Any future owner will get plenty of firewood as a bonus.

    All too real.

The ravages of time are usually not kind to Z cars left sitting for too long. Especially outside. The wind, the rain, critters, the elements and nature can take their toll ... This 73 240z decided to at least defend it's self from theft. Qualifies for Bring a Trailer and also ... Bring a Chainsaw A while back, me & Zup made a trip to the shop yard where he has three 240 parts cars stored. Some other interesting cars stored in there, but this is probably the best one to look at. Thanks again for the Enkei wheels off the other white one Jim! We will have to get back over & put some steelies back on it. And maybe do some pruning on the one pictured.
  14. You're right David, I love those bumpers. Early this year, I replaced the rubber & the carriage bolts. If I needed another one, I would not hesitate to make a deal with the ones you have.
  15. Wow, what a saga on your rear bumper Jim. Sorry to hear after all the effort you went through. (this one plus the earlier black dragon attempt) What about getting your original bumper redone? Zup did both of his with excellent results. Or, did you ever consider the Futofab bumper? Your beautiful car deserves the best & you must have had close to $400 into the Ebay bumper.

Here is one, has that Austin Powers custom look .... Fortunately not mine.
  17. I would recommend Autosport in Seattle. Their machine shop specializes in classic motors, renowned for their work on imports & british stuff. Used them when I lived in that area, always excellent, their all car guys. Ask for Brad http://autosportseattle.com/

If you were asking for verification of the 06009 clutch kit, it is the correct one, (225mm) for the coupe.

It is 3.36 In other parts of the world where Nissan offered the 5 speed transmission in the 240z the ratio was 3.90 for the R180. Zhome has all the ratio's listed for reference.
  20. The Bulge Style nuts just have a ridge that prevents the socket from bottoming in the lug hole and damaging the alloy surface.
  21. I will nudge you in the direction of the RB's. I run 16x7 RB's in the warm weather and have no issues on my 77, lowered same as you. Tire selection is far better with the 16" size vs 15". You can run 8" width on the rear but the front will be a problem with rubbing. The RBR has the flatter spoke style that you like, but I think they only make them in 17" now. Too big for these cars imo.

You are not alone. Falls into the same category as my neighbor a while back that claimed her 96 Dodge Avenger was a "Classic" ...
  23. Sold for $26,250 with very strong bidding at the end.
  24. His Ebay listings http://www.ebay.com/sch/mjj6875/m.html?item=162279847680&hash=item25c8a1f700%3Ag%3AMH8AAOSwr2RYKQYr&vxp=mtr&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  25. For #10 on your to do list, the rack bushings, just have an assistant turn the steering wheel slightly left & right while you look at the rack bushing area. You will see movement up and down if they are bad.
