Need some advice on selling
http://bringatrailer.com/2016/04/23/tasteful-restomod-1970-datsun-240z/ Tasteful, yes. Restomod, not really. Lots of interest on Ebay, almost 10k views.

Rear Hatch Louvers
I agree that a consideration with that style of mounting system is that it distorts the hatch glass seal, which eventually leads to water leaks.

No power to ECU.
Where did you tap in for power to the new sound systems, did that system include a high powered amplifier? (now it's in the right place)

Fuel pump not running / not getting power
Where did you tap in for power to the new sound systems, did that system include a high powered amplifier? Oops, I meant this post for the No EFI power thread .... sorry, one too many beverages tonight.

Submitted it to BAT to give you more exposure. If accepted, they will list it with the link to your ebay auction.

An absolutely beautiful car! Are you saying that BAT won't let the seller set the reserve at any price level they want? Best of luck with the sale Chris, I am sure it will do very well on either Ebay or BAT.

Late 280z Rear Brake Hard Lines
Although the wheel cylinders are different, the hard line looks like it attaches in exactly the same place, just a different angle. Looks to me that if it is only that subtle difference, the early line should work with just a slight bend to reform it to that angle. (looked at the picture of the cylinders on MSA's site) Ya, using generic line was my 3rd option. Good tip on how to form it. I don't need to remove the bad fitting because I am replacing the flex line, which was the original problem. I will just take both out together, and them install the new flex & hard line to the wheel cylinder.

Late 280z Rear Brake Hard Lines
Doing some preventative maintenance on my rear brakes, discovered I need to replace one of the flex lines. The upper brake hose connection released with my flare wrench fine, but when I moved to the lower one, I discovered to my delight that the nut on the hard line going to the wheel cylinder had been slightly rounded, making the flare wrench slip. Appears that the previous owner had tried to remove that line with a regular open end wrench and failed. So, not wanting to have that issue on my car, I need to replace that short hard line that goes to the wheel cylinder as well as the flex line. It appears that there is a difference between the 73 - 76 hard line and the 77 - 78 ones. Does anyone know what the difference is, or if the earlier line can indeed be used on 77 ? Here are the stainless ones from Zcardepot, 73 thru 76 only available. The other option I have researched are the ones from Classic Tube. They have the ones for 77 cars in stainless or OE. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Brake issues! Help
Why not just replace the damaged stud with a new one? Or use an appropriate metric die to clean up the threads on the existing one.

I like picture #2 .... looks like it's being prepped for major surgery. Looks like those magnetic parts dishes have come in handy. Good luck Cliff, we are all pulling for you.

[2016] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?

What's it worth?
Was going to suggest BAT as well. A lot of discussion is generated when a Z car is listed. The seller can interact & answer questions as well.

What's it worth?
Best of luck with your sale Cliff. Sad to see the persimmon one go though. Interestingly, there is a 7/72 non running with many issues near Atlanta on CL. He is looking for 5k. You should have no problems.

2 for $999.00-280s
His Cl ad https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5527253565.html points to his ebay auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/252346785331?forcerRptr=true&item=252346785331&viewitem= which is currently around 2K. The 999.00 was just a price to get you to look at his listing.

Exhaust Stud Drilling
For dill bits, have you been using left hand bits? That's what worked for me a few years ago, started small & well centered, worked my way up a few sizes, and the stud backed out.

EFI System for sale
I thought the price you set was extremely reasonable for what it includes.

240Z Resto - 01/1970 Car
Wow, what a great tool! It laughs at those notorious spindle pins! Put me on that list ... Interesting that you use liquid wrench instead of Aero Kroil or PB Blaster, but it appears to have worked for you.

Putting it back together after 2 years....
The small heat shield in the picture looks like the one that sits between the exhaust manifold & the pcv hose to protect it. Mounts vertical under the main intake heat shield. It is reversed in your picture, goes on the other way when viewed from the driver side. The one for the brake MC area is larger and more square. You can see a good picture of it in Rossiz's recent injector parts for sale thread.
