Our club hosted a fun all Nissan car show Saturday at Superior Nissan, our sponsor. A nice day, (a good barometer for that is when you see Zup in shorts) with complimentary burgers & dogs. Lots of people stopped by to chat and give the cars some love.

Yes, he has the factory rear sway bar. The R180 is smaller and after the early cars moved, the diif was moved to correct the angularity of the half shafts. Maybe that has something to do with it.

The bar is installed with the loops facing toward the front of the car. You must have had too many umbrella drinks on your vacation.... lol

Sorry, but I tested the fuel from my local phillips 66 and the mid grade gas I use indeed contains no ethanol. If it was magically mixing it at the pump, I think I would see a measurable amount of ethanol. The refineries produce gasoline in both ethanol and non ethanol blends, it is the decision of the retailer as to which blend they purchase for their pumps. Lucky for me, only the regular grade has ethanol. Here is my favorite guy on Youtube showing how you can test the ethanol content yourself.

I think you might be right about the ground connection for the bulbs. It all depends on good contact with the little tang on the bulb holder with the instrument housing. Nissan improved on this weakness in later years by adding a dedicated ground wire to each lamp in the instruments. Does the dash lighting function normally?

The modulator is located on the driver side, about 1/2 way along the transmissions length, down low, just above the pan. It is threaded and just unscrews from the transmission case.

Bottom line, use non-ethanol fuel if it is available in your area. Where I live, only regular grade has ethanol, I use the mid grade to avoid the ethanol in the Z cars and the mowers. FYI, a few years ago, a friend who has 6 or so well sorted S30's had a fuel problem crop up likely from the ethanol gas. I was working in his garage and noticed the fuel smell, traced it to one of his 280z's, the oem fuel pump body was leaking fuel. He has since put non-ethanol fuel in his cars. Another FYI, I recently checked on the cost of the OEM Nissan 280 & ZX fuel pumps out of interest. They have roughly doubled in price. (was $235 not long ago). For this reason alone, the better fuel is worth it. My non-political 2 cents.

The 77 280z plug gap should be .. .039 to .043 It has the higher powered ignition module.

The 240 parts car roof is not good, rust got it badly. I'll take a look at the 280 parts car roof..

You may be able to get to the switch & its wiring harness without taking the door panel off. Carefully remove the plastic bezel around the switch without breaking the tabs and take a look. You can possibly test the switch & power from there.
