No oil on anything I used rubber gloves and yes i used an alignment tool . I had the same problem before i changed anything. Just wondering if the bushing in the transmission support could cause this seeing they are 32 years old. Feels like a bad viberation.

Ive owned many Z and your problem will be the 280z has a high comp. ratio , where your turbo has a low.if you install a turbo to that engine you will blow head gaskets rings bearing etc. I know Ive done it. Best thing to do is get a 280zx turbo and swap engines..... Thats what i have now and this baby goes like stink. Hope this helps

I have a 1978 280 Z when cold i'm having problems putting it in second gear, when its warm there is no problem, to solve this problem i was told by a mechanic to change the gear oil and use automatic trans oil, Anyone else have the same problem?
