Ever blow a Freeze Plug while Driving?? I did....
Hey thanks for the offer, I just might take you up on that! Me and her will be getting back from camping that morning, so I dont think that she will make it (she lives in Lynwood). We are new to the Datsun scene, so I am grateful that you guys are both kind enough to help me out, and live in the area! I will let you know if I can make it.

Ever blow a Freeze Plug while Driving?? I did....
Wow... I never would have thought to look at the plugs... I me and my girlfriend are about to pull the motor from her car (76 280z 2+2) and give it a good once over. We are replacing the oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, valve lash, etc... I think I just might check the plugs as well haha. Also, when I was replacing the clutch a few weeks ago, I thought it was funny that there is a freeze plug behind the clutch... isnt that a little hard to access? Glad to hear that you like the new L26

Thanks for the welcome! I am an avid forum reader for other cars (im a Honda man :paranoid:) so I can get my way around a tool or two Thanks for the tip on Zsondabrain, i will look him up; maybe he can help out a bit. I have used the search function a bit already for things such as the clutch disk size for the 2+2 etc... Thanks again! a note to whoever cares: I will still get the pics up by tomorrow evening (GMT).

The motor seems to run great... I am still going to check the compression, plugs, oil, valve lash etc just to make sure... My girlfriend is a petite little Asian girl, so a really stiff steering rack might be an issue for her. So its something that will for sure have a be looked into. Good luck on your project!

Hi all, my girlfriend has always wanted an older car (a '67 impala...) but I refused to let her get a thing of a car (a '67 impala...). I showed her an old Datsun with hopes of her falling in love with one (instead of a '67 impala...), and guess what? She did! After a few months of looking for a fixer-upper, we found one in the greater Seattle area that has a great body (we got lucky). The clutch is pretty much toast, the mirror is broken, the ignition is fubar and the seats are unusable, the shocks are not even present, the brakes are weak, the engine bay is a mix and match party of parts (like spark-plug wires being different brands and lengths, etc) and the steering is STIFF. This said the back "seats" are in great condition, and the body looks great. I guess this is me saying Hi, and am letting you know early that I will be on here a lot working on her car. I live in Marysville, and she lives in Lynnwood, (Washington) so is there anyone that knows these cars well, and knows where I can find parts etc that is in the area? I look forward to working on her car, and talking with the folks on this forum! Thanks!
