  5. Let me know when you get serious. I have a 260 and a 280 that are good candidates for restoration or just a build. I am in AZ and come across cars all the time.

I have an F54 block, 240 connecting rods and a P90A (non-hydraulic) head, but I am in Phoenix AZ.
  7. None of the Z cars had a factory option of wire wheels. From the factory, the cars came with steel wheels and hubcaps or the aluminum optional wheels. There are several styles of factory optional wheels they typically changed every couple of years or so. A lot of the cars came with steel wheels and the dealerships would install locally available mag wheels to increase profits on the sale of the car. So the gentleman is probably correct they came with the car from the showroom but they were not put on at the factory.

Peter has it right, I use soapy water but I live in AZ so I doubt I have to worry about rust. Also remember to install the stainless steel trim in the rubber before installing it in the car and after installing it on the glass.

Anything can be made to fit just about anything given enough time, money and determination but, it would be much easier to buy a set of new ones or have your recovered rather than going to the trouble of making the later models fit. That's my $.02
