  1. I just did these on my 280z, and I accidentally ordered a replacement strut for a 240z, and I know none of the ones I got (front or rears for my 280z, or the one rear for a 240z) had that bump. Check the part number on the part themselves also not just the box. So you might have the wrong part. Remember the rears and fronts are different parts as well. Good luck.

  3. Those diagrams are awesome... I started a convo on Facebook about this install. I got the Eibach Progressive Springs, Koni Yellows, and for the front the Adjustable Street Camber Kit from MSA. So weird mix of parts and I made it to this thread and this was all mega helpful. The street camber kit as an extra bushing that is designed to sit on top of the strut where the metal bushing from the Koni's goes... so I assume we just can exclude that? In the diagram I am attaching it is "Bushing #2227"

I posted this pic in another thread.... Are the wires that come in on one side coming right out the other side or do they cross at all inside the link box? So is the white wire in, the same white wire out (with the fuse in between)? If so clear the white one I know which one is bringing power in. I have a test light, so in order to mess with it so I hook the battery up (I unlocked while I was messing with stuff) remove the fusible links and see which side of the terminal lights up the test light? I am new to this electrical stuff... never done much more than a stereo install.
  5. I bought a MAXI fuse distribution block. I wasn't going to do that set up, but I don't know which wires go to what. Unlike later models it isn't easy to tell which ones are from power except the one white one that comes directly from the starter. But like that set up posted above, are the wires in the link just pass throughs? Meaning the wires just go straight in, loop in the fuse, and go out. So do they cross in there somewhere?
  6. Here is a pic of how mine looks. This was photoshopped on top of the Atlantic Z write up. Not sure if anyone is still following this old thread.... trying to get some info.
  7. I have a 75... do the wire colors into the fusible links not matter from the stock harness? On the 76-78 models the white wires are all power. On mine, the 80amp link has white wires in and out, and the 40amp link has both white with red stripe. If I did a set up like this and cut the wires below the fusible link box, do you assume the way the wire in is relates to the links on top? Or in the box somewhere do they switch around at all?

Trying to find some information. Okay so I have searched... and I have read the stuff here (http://www.atlanticz...inks/index.html) and also looked at the 75 Wiring Diagram (attached). I have a couple questions. For the 76 and up, it is clear in the wiring diagrams that the White wires all go to the starter for power. The WR ones go to their respective items. (each fusible link has a white wire to it, and a WR wire) So now for my 75 (originally an auto but swapped to man) the alternator link (80amp) has two W wires going to it, and the ignition one (40amp) has both WR wires going to/from it. The white wire from the starter goes straight to the 80amp fusible link. The two WR on the 40amp link both are going into the harness towards the cabin. So which wires are the power to the links and which ones are the out wire that would be the ones coming out of the fuse block for the WR wires? I have a Maxi fuse block, so I know to take one wire start from the starter to the power in, but which wires are my "out" wires? The inside of the fusible links are just looms right? So the other out white wire would come out the 80amp fuse. How do I figure out which of the WR wires should come out the 40amp fuse? Will it hurt anything if I wire them both into the fuse block (I have four slots) and since it is the ignition link see which one needs the fuse in order for the car to start? Any help is appreciated. 75_schematic_diagram_withLines.pdf
  9. Does anyone know if the 16x8s will fit without spacers? I am looking at these wheels also... for the price you can't beat em. I had some sport max tires on a past Nissan and they were a good buy for the money.
  10. I have been searching for a new fun car, have always loved Datsuns but hard to find good ones out here in Indiana. I was looking at some 240sxs as they are a dime a dozen but luckily I spotted this over the weekend in Chicago and just had to buy it (hope I don't regret it). Its a 1975 Datsun 280z. The body was very clean, almost no rust on it, the floor boards are solid, as well as the trunk floor and strut towers (typical rust places I check). I was more worried about rust than anything. The car started right up, but smoked a little. I have never worked on one of these... so I will be learning about them quickly! The interior isn't complete. Missing carpet and some dash items. Looks like parts from a few different cars inside. I am guessing a project someone didn't complete. I am in Northwest Indiana and new to the area so looking for a shop that might be Datsun friendly to do some of the heavier projects I won't be able to do in my garage. I have been a Nissan guy my whole life... Stanza, NX2000, couple sentras, a SpecV, and daily drive an Altima. So now going back in time a little to get this one and very excited about it. So now where do I start on it...
