  2. Nice shot there. May I ask what suspension setup this lime yellow zed currently has? from the pictures you posted, it looks like the car sits a bit high compare to my 260z with tokico blue suspension. Thanks. Ed
  3. Hmm.....interesting. When I turn the wheel all the way to the left and return to death straight the steering wheel tend to move slightly over to the left side, not straight. Same thing happen when I turn to the right as well. I guess is the alignment problem then if the steering bolt is not the cause. Thanks guys, appreciate the help. Ed
  4. I'm looking for an quick answer for the thread size of the steering rack connecting bolt. The bolt that missing the nut on the picture, thanks. Ed

You could mount it under or above the front bumper or mount it on the grill. Whatever you like best. Ed

Nice video, thanks for sharing. May I ask where do you mount your camera and what kind of camera you use to video this? Ed
  7. Couldn't agree more with Arne. The tires will get stretch, but not crazy stretch like you seen on some of the VW or 60's series tire running on 12inches wheel. You should be fine and the stretch won't be too obvious. In fact, that's what my next tires set will be 195/70r14 on 14x7 supra wheels. Ed

These are old skyline fender mirrors. Do you still remember where you got these from? Ed
  10. The car has been parked for like 1 month now, so I'm not sure if it still has brake or not; but I don't think it has since all the brake fluid has leak already. I just check, the brake fluild actually leak from between the MC and the brake booster. So, I guess the fluid is then go down to the brake booster which I thought where it was leaking before. As I recall, there is no seal or gasket on the MC when I connected to the brake booster. What now? remove the 2 bolts and MC, clean it up and rebolt it back to the brake booster?? And bleed the brake again? Any brake bleeder you guys can recommend??? Those one man job brake bleeder. Please advise, thanks. Ed
  11. It was refurbished unit and it doesn't leak after the MC is swap(it was done in July), I noticed there is small leak when the weather is getting colder and now it worst. So, where should I start??? Ed
  12. I upgrade the MC to 15/16 from 280zx a while ago along with 4x4 caliper upgrade, so what now? Order the new brake booster? Thanks. Ed
  13. My car, early 260z is leaking brake fluid badly. It leaks all of the brake fluid from the reservoir when I top it off two days ago. I notice the leak is from the bottom of the brake booster, but my question is, isn't the brake booster only act as a pressure builder to assist braking? Why brake fluid will leak from the bottom of the brake booster??? Also, is the 260z and 280z brake booster interchangeable? Please advise, thanks. Ed

I think Orange does offer for 260z and 280z as well. My early 74 260z is origin Orange paint, but now repaint to red. Ed
  17. The key is to find a zed that is in good running condition, once you get there. The rest is just UPGRADE. Therefore, those money is optional for you to do the upgrade or not. I got my 260z last year and hasn't really thrown in big money on the car yet because the car is in perfect working condition, beside running rich.(will take care of it soon) The money I spent on the car is mostly cosmatic stuffs, ex: wheel, seat swap, toyota truck brake upgrade, exhaust, poly bushing, struts. For your budget, 4-5k you should get a really decent zed without much of the upgrade and the key is be patience and find the one that done most of the upgrades and in running condition. Otherwise, it will bankcrupt you one way or the other. Good luck with you find. Ed
  18. I just measure the louver, it is about 24.75" from top to bottom and the hatch is about 26.5". I guess the seller is lying or something............ Thanks for the reply. Ed
  19. The seller said it was removed from 73 240z.......:stupid: The width fit alright, but the length just seem falls short. Is there any different between 240z with early 260z hatch? Thanks. Ed
  20. Hi guys, I recently purchased a louver, but it seems to not fit to my early 260z. There is like 1 inches gap between the hatch weatherstrip and the aluminum piece from the louver. I try to flip the aluminum piece around, no help, the gap is ever greater. Any suggestion??? I compare to the recently louver topic: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=40475 most of the louver seems to be tight fit, but mine just have a big fat gap........ <a href="http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/?action=view&current=IMG_2459.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/IMG_2459.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <p></p> <a href="http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/?action=view&current=IMG_2458.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/IMG_2458.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <p></p> <a href="http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/?action=view&current=IMG_2457.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/IMG_2457.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <p></p> <a href="http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/?action=view&current=IMG_2456.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/IMG_2456.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <p></p> <a href="http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/?action=view&current=IMG_2460.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/copugeek/IMG_2460.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Ed
  21. Here you go: http://www.zccjdm.com/catalog.php/azcarbum/dt81970/pd1845473/240Z_280Z__S30Z_CHROME_TRIM_HEADLIGHT_COVERS_ But I think you need to find a set of mouthing kit though. Take care. Ed
  22. Looks like shill bid to me. But there is one that end recently that cost only $400, ebay# 260690504728 and another one cost about $800, ebay# 300490744688. Ed
  23. Cool, I will take care of it ASAP. By the way, the stock timing for L26 is set to 8 degree right? What bother me is that, I send my car to a shop and the shop doesn't how know fix datsun and end up keep throwing money away. I tried it once, the shop said this is old car, what you expect son? It will run rich no matter what, especially for an old car like this and I was like.......well forget it. So, may I ask is it easy to get the timing correctly on a Speed Shop and take care of the mixture??? And how much it usually cost to get the car tune in term of fuel mixture? I will look into the knocking tomorrow. Thanks everyone. Ed
  24. Thanks for the reply. Is there anyway to check whether there is leak on the exhaust manifold beside using stethoscope? I try to use a hose to pin point where the knocking noise comes from, but the knocking noise just too freaking loud even in idle, it literally hurt my ear just stand around the engine. So, any other suggestion to check exhaust leak??? Steve J, my car is running way rich before, getting like 10mpg and holley 4 barrel setup. So, I can't really tell you whether the mixture is good or not, assuming it already mess up on the mixture, but it ran fine before beside the freaking bad mileages and after the driving the car, I get the hot rod smell.........haha. Just hopefully is not serious damage like valve or bearing job, any suggestion are welcome. Thanks everyone. Ed
  25. Thanks for the suggestion. So, pieces of the exhaust gasket that get into the combustion camber and causing the knocking? It leads some unburn fuel leak into the exhaust manifold and cause backfire? Sounds logic to me. Any more suggestion are welcome. And how hard is it to replace the exhaust gasket? When I remove the gasket, I need to remove the intake as well well right? since they are one piece. I only has normal tool, wrench and screws, any special tool to do the job? Thanks guys. Ed
