  1. Cleaned up the harness a bit Good thing I have heat in the garage. It is below zero outside Casey
  2. Finally installed Z's onthe brain head light upgrade. If it wasn't for a PO's butchering of the headlight hookup on the right side it would have been painless. Great upgrade. I had it sitting ready a while but naturally I waited till I also had to take the headlight switch off due to overheating and cleanup and repair it also.http://www.kamikazeracing.org/dl/ZTe...mbo_switch.pdf Great link if you are a little handy. Middle pic is the connector some one used instead of proper one. Buddy of mine in the Ontario z car club gave me proper connectors and a little time with a meter test light and wiring diagram made it happen. With a Bosch H4 headlight upgrade that was already installed I will have to use my lowbeams Still am going to cleanup the harness in front of the rad. I have all winter
  3. I bought the later wheel cylinders also for my 72. Bought a couple of flared metric hard lines at the local parts store and bent them to fit. Worked like a charm.
  4. $1.09 a liter in Ontario. You wonder why we cross the border to tank up.
  5. Just remove console and see post 3. Great aftermarket fix. 4 or 5 screws is all that holds the console in place. Once it is out you can effect whatever repair is necessary.
  6. Found this 76 Kawasaki KZ 900 in a barn. Been sitting for 20+ years in various places. It has 18000 miles on it. When I expressed interest in restoring it the guy said if you want it you can have it:D It was on a trailer and in my garage pretty fast. There was no ownership. When I went to search the VIN.# there was no record of it in the system. 10 dollars and a declaration and it was mine with a valid title. They purge VIN#s if they are inactive in Ontario after a certain number of years. Replaced all the ignition components, changed the oil and cleaned the gas tank. Put some clean gas in it. It fired up and ran poorly at first. Now it runs good and pulls like a train. Love the Japanese engines. Thursday it was safe-tied and licensed legally. I had my last bike plate on it with a 1987 sticker just to sneak out on the back roads to put some miles on it to shake the cobwebs out. I hope to restore it to original trim. Casey
  7. Body shop's use restoration as filler work. The money is in collision work. I had my car at my brothers shop and made myself such a pain in the #ss that he got it done just to stop me from crying:cry: He also let me work on it myself and it still took 3 months. He has a old VW bug in the one bay and it has not been touched for two months because people do not drive well in the winter. Never tell a body shop that you are not in a hurry. Casey
  8. Just saying to be sure you have done it. Shifter bushings? Casey
  9. Went for a couple of drives and am totally satisfied with this set up. Corners on a rail and is smooth. No issues with clearance and the diameter of the wheels is the same as the 14in wheels with stock tires. Dead smooth past 110mph don,t ask and I won't tell how I know
  10. Had a couple inches of rain to wash the salt away and some 10 to 15 degree Celsius weather. Changed the oil and gave the 240 a bath. I think it might be spring:D I would rather drive the bottom vehicle:cool:
  11. They 15x7" 0 offset with Toyo Proxes 4 225x50x15".There are no issues with clearance.
  12. Thanks for the comments. It was pictures of silver cars like Zedyone's and Oiluj's that inspired me to go with the original silver when we did the body. Kind of a clone thing going on in different parts of North America. Cheers everyone and we really would like some spring weather over in Ontario. Casey
  13. Another 10 inches of snow. I am putting miles on the snowblower:tapemouth
  14. Part of a winter work day in southern Ontario It can stop now:stupid:
  15. Can't take this global warming:)
  16. The Z is sitting but i put a few miles on the snowblower:( About 10" snow today in Niagara
  17. I installed this and it works great. No worries about your console again. Datsun 240Z 1972 73 Choke Cable Lever Mounting Bracket | eBay
  18. Hank I am putting miles on the snow blower and am tired of it - We have to get together at Tim,s in Grimsby when the weather changes and the incredible amount of salt on the roads is washed away. This global warming thing is killing me:stupid:
  19. Zedyone Took a quick snap as it sits The mat is out until spring arrives. I love the red interior. I sometimes read that people want to change it.The silver and red look awesome together.
