  1. I drove my first 240 year round when for 3 years in Ontario. After 3 winters the rear quarters were rusting already and I had bought it brand new. It handled the weather ok for traction but once the snow is deeper than 6 inches your Datsun is an expensive toboggan. It rides up on the snow when it is deep and you slide instead of driveLOL It happened to me but it was a soft landing with no damage. Just a lot of friends pushing it back on the road. Good luck but moisture and salt eat early Japanese cars. Casey
  2. I used to wear pants with that pattern:( What was I thinking
  3. I got a set from Courtesy Nissan Casey
  4. Just a plug for Laverne He keeps my car running beautiful. Casey
  5. I used the Black Dragon kit Everything worked great except the door rubbers I bought the kit 3 years ago and used it a year and a half ago. The door rubbers were too fat. I used Volvo 850 rubbers from a wrecking yard and they were a good install with some tweeking. Casey
  6. I looked long and hard for a quarter panel when we did my car. Definitely worth saving.
  7. I had mine setup by someone who has done this for years. He has a book of matches and uses it to set the points. Works like a charm.
  8. This is base coat clear coat silver with a little extra metal flake for depth Casey
  9. The welting is part of the seal as opposed to being a separate part. We used a 850 Volvo seals which cost 10 bucks at the wreckers. Casey
  10. I am pretty sure it was a mid ninety's 850 Volvo. There are a couple of options Kia or Volvo if you do a search there is a ton of info. Casey
  11. When we put my car together we gave up on the Precision door seals and used some Volvo seals that fit perfectly. If you want original look with the separate welting that might not work for you. My brother has owned his bodyshop for thirty years and is also is a stubborn man but he had to give up on the door rubbers from Precision. The window and hatch seals were great. Casey
  12. We have some incredible early spring weather. Got up early and drove to Niagara Falls (New York). Picked up a case of Valvoline 10/30 VR1 oil and got a cheap tank of fuel in my wife's Pilot. The oil is not available in that viscosity in Canada. Got home changed the oil and filter and greased the front end and steering rack. Got the Z out in the driveway gave it a bath and went for a drive. The car ran like a champ. I have never been able to do that on March 17 ever!
  13. I had a quarter panel shipped Greyhound Washington State to Buffalo. It was boxed and that part of the move went well. The border was a different story. Casey
  14. Make sure the old one is completely removed from frame Casey
  15. If the strut is still on the car this slide hammer worked for me. Casey
  16. On an Ontario Z Club run someone following me noticed a wobble in my passenger rear wheel. Turned out it was a bent stub axle. I bought 2 axles which I found in the classifieds in this forum. A few years back Blue posted an extremely helpful step by step pictorial(thanks):classic: which along with a bearing kit from Black Dragon got the job done. The technical help you can get on this forum is priceless. [ATTACH=CONFIG]51419[/ATTACH All I need to do now is polish things and wait for spring. I am a bit jealous of you southern members who get to drive there old cars all year, but then again I get to go out and shovel the snow in my driveway:cry: Casey
  17. There is a wealth of information available if you are willing to take some effort yourself to aquire it. The people on this board help because they enjoy sharing. Some of us are a little old school and believe in old fashioned concepts such as spelling and punctuation. Humour(Canadian spelling:D)us. Regards Casey
  18. I have a 280z rad in my 72 240z I found a cowl at a swap meet for 20 bucks. Solved my cooling issues completely. Casey
  19. If you give respect you get respect. Seems to be a forgotten concept today. Casey
