FYI - 240Z Dashboards
No Offense taken here. I installed one ( was supposed to be temporary), because my dash is really bad and I didn't want to see it anymore. And at the time couldn't afford a new or restored dash. Thought $1800 was unrealistic. I think it would be more "tacky" driving it around without something hiding the ugly cracked up dash. Just MHO.

Heater temp valve leak
Even the rebuilt one is expensive at $171!

Zcarsource.com. Pricey though. They have rebuilt ones also.

The area you call garage ....
I cleaned mine up and now I can't find a damn thing anymore . Build the garage or at least a shed out back, you'll be glad you did. Was supposed to build me one but finding the time to do it, not going to be able to any time soon.

FYI - 240Z Dashboards
Oh boy, a new dash for my 77 280! I would love to have a new one. I had no choice but to install a full face dash cap. And I have tried twice to get the full face cap to fit right and it doesn't!! Still better than looking at my present dash. I spent 17 years in Vegas and that's what destroyed my dash. Or at least helped it along. It is so brittle that if I was to attempt removal of the dash cap my dash would disintegrate. The price is great. I would buy a new dash before re-doing my seats. That's how bad mine is.

Hesitation during acceleration
Yep, big mistake to wash down the engine bay equip'd with EFI. Ask me how I know . Many years ago when it was the thing to do, did it and still to this day am regretting it. It's easier to remove the TVS from the throttle body to access the interior of it, unless it's already been opened. Just mark the throttle body before removing it. Mine had some light corrosion in it. I used the striker area from a book of matches to clean my contacts. Worked well.

Hesitation during acceleration
Yeah and good luck on your search. Mine is plugged off because I can't find a replacement. Was hoping to find a new one, maybe universal. After plugging off my advance canister I no longer have a hesitation. I assumed it was my problem. Maybe not? I used a vacuum pump to determine mine was bad, would not hold vacuum. As a matter of fact I remember saying, "thats my problem" because of how fast it leaked down. That is the reason I assumed it was my problem.

A/F ratio for L28
I honestly don't recall

A/F ratio for L28
This is how it should be.

A/F ratio for L28
Yes, specific to this state. Ca has it's own rules. I can't remember all the details off hand but, There are certain "codes" on the cats here and if it isn't the one "this state" requires for your vehicle then you are failed immediately.

A/F ratio for L28
Not sure, don't begin to understand how that would work.

A/F ratio for L28
That would be a NO. I've talked about this before. I know I can do all kinds of things to make it run better and install aftermarket efi to make it run cleaner but it would fail the "visual" inspection of the emissions testing. Maybe I'll record the next emissions testing I have. It's almost as if they have been told to find something wrong/not correct so they can fail you because if you own an older vehicle you are considered a bad person and are the main contributing factor to the air pollution problem, period! The only thing I have that's not stock with my engine is the exhaust header. At idle I'm supposed to be at 0.5 % CO's at the most! A half percent! That's max. My Z, being stock, doesn't like to run that lean. Anyway, I could go on and on about it but have already jacked this thread, sorry Stanely. I should. Wish I could.

If I'm trying to set it, tune it, for emissions I need it to be a steady as possible. Am I asking too much?
