One more try. OK, going to get Mike to look into it. I went into my profile and resized, saved and it is still the same.

Just a test. I think I fixed the sig pic size.
  5. Autozone has them for $26.00 so it may be cheaper at local part stores.

Yep, and haven't figured out how to change it. Really don't know why it is that big. Was thinking about just deleting it.

Probably better than I could do.

I've listened to it a couple more times now and I would be afraid to run it too much with that sound. How familiar are you with these engines? When was the last time it was run? Maybe do a compression test on it. Again, really curious what you find out.

Sounds like valve train. Check valve adjustment. It's pretty loud. Curious what you discover as you get into it. Nice looking all original car!

Can't wait to see it complete!
  14. Not a bad price either! Going to follow this thread.
  15. And drinking beer with the chili?
  16. Looking good! That white with blue interior looks classy.
  17. On my 77 I switched the locks to the opposite side, left for the right and viceversa. I tried locating my thread on this and can't find it . IIRC it was just that easy. And they work like brand new, almost.

Most of the emissions stations out here know what to look for, for the most part. They always look for correct engine numbers, egr is functioning, no broken vacuum lines, catalytic converter has the right codes stamped into it, etc, etc. I want a higher horse power engine and a programmable fuel system but, I would fail visual for sure. You can't convince "them" that it would be a "cleaner" running system either. They only see that it's been "modified". If any CA 280Z owners have been able to mod their engines and get away with it I'm all ears. Sorry wheee! Didn't mean to jack your thread. Wasn't my intention. I think we should start another thread regarding the "emissions" scandal.

Have considered that as well. But I can remember when swapping an engine over a weekend sounded like, and was, fun. I don't know that I would want to do that every other year for the rest of my life now. They gave me a hard time with the polished valve cover so.....
  20. rcb280z replied to wheee!'s post in a topic in Build Threads
That is what I'm hoping for.

I like your intake and fuel rail. Can't alter the stock stuff in California. I would fail the visual inspection. I'm getting lucky with my header. Probably because I have an egr and egr tube that connects to the header which I bought from MSA. I'm tempted to try it though. If I don't alter the "finish" then maybe it'll look stock to some of these smog shops.
  22. rcb280z replied to Mikes Z car's post in a topic in Aftermarket
Uh yeah, don't do it! Seriously, I have never seen it on a Z car. I remember them though. Had a '76 Mercury Montego, big as a boat, that I used them on for parallel parking. It helped because that was a very big car. It was also in style back in the day. I think I saw them in Pepboys recently though. They mounted at the very bottom of the fender just ahead of the front wheel. I don't think there is an easy way to mount them without fabricating a mounting bracket and still, I don't think it would look good at all. Just MHO. Not helpful as far as what you asked but I just had to reply. Kinda like my hood. Out of place to the purist but cool to everyone else. I want the original hood back on but again, this isn't answering your question. Sorry for rambling.

I wondered if that would work. Then I had a couple Arrogant Bastard Ale's and forgot about it .
