Engine test stand
Muffler and rad at a later date, maybe? Just run it for a few seconds and then decide what to do for exh and rad. Just my 2 cents.

Engine test stand
Go for it Dave. I want to see this thing start and run.

I agree with Zed Head on the 2-3 psi, needle is not on zero. I would get a new gauge Haha! mbz, Glad you posted that. Optical illusion.

Center console hole
I believe it was for an ash tray on the 2+2 versions, maybe? Just verified it's for an ash tray via my microfiche zKars is right.

Emissions saga and a home test for idle setting/tuning tip
Yes I've been in it to adj. the clock spring CW to lean it a little. IIRC about 2 teeth is all it needed.

Emissions saga and a home test for idle setting/tuning tip
Okay, I was thinking of a different AFM Zed Head. So ignore previous post. The one from MSA does have a label. A31-604-000 on the box and AFM.

HG stop leak recommendations?
This is the same one I am looking at purchasing. Thanks

Emissions saga and a home test for idle setting/tuning tip
Sorry for late response, just getting back into town. There is no label on it. Neither of the 2 AFM's I bought from MSA have any type of identification. I will verify as soon as I can.

HG stop leak recommendations?
That might be the Bars leak head gasket repair I've just looked at. I might try it.

HG stop leak recommendations?
I am afraid to re-torque the bolts. Last thing I need is to break a bolt. Have already used them twice. So if I replace the head gasket I'll need new head bolts. Had the head off in 96. It did get a new head gasket then. Forgot those details. You can say I have CRS lately. It is the original engine

HG stop leak recommendations?
So are you trying to tell me that's how much faith you have in any head gasket stop leak?

Emissions saga and a home test for idle setting/tuning tip
That's what I thought. But I still don't pass with it either and I didn't want to mess with it. The 280 likes it. And that's funny, I wonder if the one I tweak to pass emissions is an MSA one.

HG stop leak recommendations?
That's funny Cliff. I was going to post the stuff they have in a spray, as a joke.

I have one that runs rich(er) from MSA also. I don't use it though. I forget were I got the one I am currently using. I have one that is adjusted to pass smog with. I swap it out for one that my 280 likes until it's time for emissions testing. We have rolling dyno tests done here. One at 15 mph and one at 25 mph. Along with the idle test.

HG stop leak recommendations?
Harden was probably not the right word. Maybe "thicken" describes it better.

HG stop leak recommendations?
I've wondered the same. Maybe it doesn't restrict flow? Only builds up, hardens, where there is an air source? Just guessing right now.

HG stop leak recommendations?
Close, it's right at the corner of the head / block. IIRC there is a large coolant passage there, next to the head bolt. Rightfully so. I totally plan on replacing it......soon. Interesting, I did not know this. I'll put that on the list of possibilities.

HG stop leak recommendations?
On my 77 280 stock engine.......... Besides replacing it completely, which I have no time for right now, can anyone recommend a head gasket stop leak? One that has worked / known to work. I know, I'm probably asking for a miracle. The first pic show's a leak at the back corner right side that is new. Not at the freeze plug. The second pic is a leak, seepage between Nissan and Japan, between #2 and #3 spark plugs, that has been there for years. Have just kept and eye on it. But now with the new leak I'm concerned. I will eventually pull the head and replace the HG but not right now. The new leak seems to stop after the engine has come to full operating temp. It's not leaking into the cylinders. Plugs don't show that as a possibility. No miss on start up. No puffs of white smoke / steam. Engine doesn't overheat. Appreciate your input. Bob

Cool test. I got these wrong:

77 @ Copart
I would agree if the paint is good. When I saw it the first time it looked like the paint was bad but looking at it a second time it just may be dirty. I mean as a 77 280 owner I want to see prices like that. But lets get real, I just don't think it's reached that mark yet, right?

It's a $3000 car and no more than that.

Help with identification on sitting 280z
And a royal PITA to fix if the PO was in there hacking away at stuff trying to get it to pass smog.

Help with identification on sitting 280z
75 or 76. Look at the identification plate in the drivers door jamb area. It'll have a manufacturer date.
