  1. Glad its an improvement. I want to do the same swap but first I need to sort out my BCDD issue I have right now.

Talked about in the past I know but, does anyone know if there are replacement parts for the BCDD? I believe my BCDD has a vacuum leak and am thinking about removing and blocking it off. But I'm not sure what to do about the solenoid. Here's the reason. When I unplug it the idle changes (lowers) and is not as smooth. And when I rev the engine the idle is slow to return to 800. This is while the solenoid is unplugged. My other concern is emissions. It is hard to pass emissions testing as it is in California. What will it do if its removed? I'm not sure. I don't want to purchase a used one because it could have the same problems mine has and if it doesn't when will it? There are no new ones that I can tell. I read where people have removed them but no info on emissions results. The other thing I noticed with my BCDD is when I was standing over the engine just listening (with BCDD solenoid connected) I heard this "click" sound and the engines idle changed. Was not smooth. Acted as if it just became lean. It stayed that way for a few minutes and then I heard another "click" and the idle smoothed out, What?! Not sure whats going on there either.

As far as gluing it down, I did not. And I don't have any issues with it. The reason I didn't glue it down was ease of removing the cowl to get to the wiper motor.
  5. Wow, Matt please take a video when she is running! I need to hear it ::
  6. Wow that seems like a good price. Can't wait to hear how much you like them.

Mine actually holds the 44oz cups from circle-k. Tapered at the bottom and fits snug. Nice to know it can look that good because mine looks like the one on the left in picture 1.

Bet that cost a pretty penny!

You will only get good hwy mileage if the timing is right and vacuum advance works. I just used the chokes until mine warmed up. If you dont have them hooked up you may want to consider it or just wait a few minutes before driving it. I had the K&N round air filters on mine. That is a descent city mileage.

Depends on driving style and how she is tuned. When I was running 72' SU's on my 77 L28 I was getting 15/20. But it was tuned to run so to speak. With the F.I. back on I see 16/26. These numbers are approx numbers. Again it depends on how you have it tuned. Condition of dizzy & vac can, ignition, etc. If everything is in tip top condition you could see numbers around 17 city/25 hwy. Again, approx numbers here.

Im thinking of going aftermarket as well but have not looked into it. If I do I want, besides the tach and speedo, a temp, oil pressure, fuel, and volt gauge. Im pretty sure speedhut makes a "combo" gauge of a couple of the ones I want like a temp/oil pressure gauge. I could care less about a clock. Not trying to keep everything bone stock on my 280. Let me know what you find if you are looking into it.
  13. Wow, wish there was an advanced auto here.

Yeah thats a nice blue for the Z.
  17. What's wrong with the adv can you have now? Does it hold vacuum? If so adjust it. Remove the epoxy plug and then you can adjust it from there. I recently did mine and am happy with it.
  18. You will most likely get an email saying "discontinued" like I did.
  19. Those are awesome looking for sure! Makes me want to put my original wheel back on and order the pad for my 77 Hmm........
  20. I had to replace my diff mount to get rid of the rear end clunk.
  21. Good Man! Post results.
  22. I'm with John. Try to fix it because replacements are expensive. $500 on zcarsource.com! And they are used.
  23. Hmm.....was hoping that was what you were going to say. I have been looking for a 81-83 ZX motor as well for the same reason. My motor in my 77 is getting worn out and rather than dropping money into it I want a "better" motor. If I have to drop money into the ZX that would be okay because I think its a better way to go. And when I say "drop money" into it just means a few hundred not thousands. It's a D.D. so I need it to be dependable. Wish I had one sitting in my driveway.
