Here's our chance to make a stand..........
Now's our chance to be heard. Maybe this time....we can only hope there will be a change California Bill to Exempt Pre-1983 Vehicles from Emissions Inspections Introduced Legislation (A.B. 210) has been introduced to exempt motor vehicles prior to the 1983 model year from emissions inspection requirement. Current law requires the biennial testing of all 1976 and newer model-year vehicles. The bill awaits consideration by the Assembly Transportation Committee. Nice! Waiting on more pics. Depends on what you want. If you "really" like the Z car I would imagine you wouldn't bring up the other part of that statement, (or should I sell it)

Still hoping for frame rail/under carriage pics. Looks to me like she's been sitting in the rain one too many times.

Polar Vortex
I can remember, just barely, living in Rapid City South Dakota early 70's and the old man would plug in the block warmer so he could start the 57' Chevy Bel air the next morning. It got down to as low as -70 windchill. And snow drifts up to the second story windows! Fun days!

Wow, I didn't know that. Learn something new every day. Seriously, how much is it really worth?

One weird thing: The passenger headlight scoop is cracked as if it were a fiberglass scoop. Were they fiberglass then? I didn't think so but......

We're bringin' back the Flat Tops!
Wow, nice work! I wonder how much Nissan charged back in the day to rebuild the flat tops. Couldn't have been cheap but then again it's never cheap going to the dealer now is it? The flat tops look complicated. Just curious.

My 280Z cranks but doesn't stay running once started
Well if you can get it to fire, cap and rotor should be fine. I was thinking out loud when I posted that question which was answered for me.

headlight adjustor plastic nut source
Funny thing is I don't recall seeing those on my 77 280. I can't find it in my micro-fiche either. Anyone know if these are in all years of the S30?

My 280Z cranks but doesn't stay running once started
True. That does actually sound like fuel starved. Spraying some starter fluid to keep it going might tell the story.

How long have you had this Z? Do you know if they installed the correct cap and rotor considering its a points dizzy? IIRC the 70-73 cap and rotor are different from the other years. Do you know how to adjust and clean points? Like mentioned above, check spark (looking for strong spark), fuel pressure and if the injectors are firing. Fast clicking sound will be heard. Look at the spark plugs. They tell you a lot. Not sure then take pics and post.

His timing is maxed out looks like. Why are you running a points distributor? Just curious.

Disposing of old brake fluid
I watched it, interesting. Wonder what it does to the cat. Bet that is what he smelt burning.

Title Issues!
NICB.org Scroll down and you'll see the "search vincheck" window. It gave me a "theft and salvage record". I would assume if you want other info you may have to pay. Have fun

Title Issues!
I just went to NICB 's website and went to "Search VINCheck" and was able to run my vin for free.

Looking for 240, 260, or 280zs in the $500-$2000 range.
Haha, kinda figured you'd shrug your shoulders. I'm a fan of all the Z cars. I have my favorites though. I draw the lines with the "sleds" (2+2)!

Then you need to have Patience, maybe you'll find something. Doubtful though.
