....and lots of it. I was nervous when I did a set but after removing a couple I got comfortable with it.
  2. Anything is better than spending $250 for a rebuilt one, that's for sure.
  3. Zcarsource.com has them it looks like. They want $250.00!

No need to apologize. You also may want to consider adding a few more pics. Engine bay, undercarriage, etc. May help you sell.

Good looking ZX. You may want to consider posting an asking price.
  6. Mark, can he run a hotter plug in those 2 cylinders? Will that help eliminate the idle fouling?
  7. Excellent! I purchased a back up module and keep it in my Z's glove box. Just in case, you know? I also tested it when I received it, thats how I discovered the first one was bad. Too many defective ones on the market for purchase so beware. And price differences.
  8. Test procedure is the same for the 77. Gary, you'll see it as soon as you look up towards the damper along the body.
  9. I envy you. I bet it's pretty!
  10. As do I. Every time I pop the gas tank cap. Sometimes I think it working too well.
  11. On my 77 its close to the fuel pump, in the vapor vent line that runs between the liquid / vapor separator and carbon canister. I think its the same for the 76 (?)
  12. You've got your work cut out for you with the harness. Lots of cut wires there
  13. Ok lets try this a different way. Go out to your car and pull all 6 plugs (now) and take a pic of them (now) and then load that/those pics so we can see all six of them (now).
  14. Mark has suggested several times now to check all plugs, have you done so yet? Are the rest of the plugs like 3 and 4, fouled?
  15. Can't wait to hear that it worked out. Let us know as soon as you can. I'm thinking of going back to OE fuel pump and damper. So this would be good info.
  16. Good advice. And don't start throwing parts at it yet. Installing Mega squirt isn't going to solve your problems.

I am also using these in my 77 with no issues.
  18. pm sent I want the harmonic balancer and wiper frames.
  19. I didn't either and if it is rich at idle you would have seen a puff of black smoke coming off of idle for sure.
  20. Yes, for you electrical guru's. I know just enough to get myself in trouble. I would say it is the original alternator. There would be no reason to go backwards. Yes (in it)
  21. If Your Z is a 78 then you should have an internal (in the alt.) regulator.

No Jeff. Not even considering that. These are getting harder to find and without any defects is nearly impossible, IMO. I have a bad habit of not checking things out closer when buying them. Can't seem to break that habit. That no way means I want a refund. Just advice on whether it needs to be rebuilt and I received the advice I was looking for. I am grateful I found an original. Now to get it rebuilt. It'll be like new then.

Not afraid to try. Just making sure I don't jump into anything like I did when I bought the used balancer.

Thanks Hardway. I may end up looking for a good used one again. I'll know what to look for this time. Haven't decided yet though.

Dave, maybe it has a curing time? Harder to damage after it cures.
