It would be interesting to know why its there. My 77 doesn't have it and never did. I know another owner that does not have it either. So if it was there for noise deadening, or what ever reason, then shouldn't it have been on every 77? Assuming it's from your 77 280. I don't recall seeing it in the FSM either. I'll have to look for it when I get home.

It was a good show. I liked the fab of the under body jack supports.

Mine is a 5/77 with a flat deck if that helps. I think they were sloped before 5/77, IIRC.

This tucks in under that bar running across from left to right. MSA sells it. It's the only "canister" filter I've ever replaced on my 77. I'm not sure that the charcoal one can be cleaned. Good question though. Code: 18-9061Price:$13.98

Looks like you have a little coolant seepage at the thermostat housing. Could be a loose bolt, maybe. Or just a plain ol' dried up gasket.

77 and 78 used the same bumper rubber. It's what was on my 77. What a find! looks really good so far. Definitely need the rubber boot between the afm and throttle body. The efi is a simple system once you have an understanding of it. Lots of knowledgeable people on this site. Those compression numbers look great!

I have a Bose system, bass speaker with 2 surround speakers. Sound is wonderful. I'm curious, have you reversed the two connectors mentioned above yet?

I've never heard a valve lash noise that loud before. Maybe my computer speakers are sensitive?

What is that God awful sound coming from the engine? Sounds like something coming in contact with the fan blade or an improperly fitting distributor rotor? Doesn't anyone else here this?

If I had it to do over I would get the bumper from the late 260z or the 76 280z and install them on my 77. They look better than the 77-78 ones. Then I would shave them getting them closer to the body. I like that look. There is a member here with that done IIRC. John, it really depends on what you are wanting for rear bumpers. If your not convinced one way or another then wait til later. Dont jump just because the tank is out. Pulling the tank a second time will be easier because you will done it already.
