Indeed, well when I bought the car I let i go. I saved up a year later and started to give it some upgrades. there are not many Z parts in europe though, except for the UK But yea, It looks like the exhaust was rampaged by a hammer

Allright I´ll give it a go. Sorry but I´m new to this forum, and there are not any native forums about Datsun cars in general

Thought the bore was 40 if I recall correctly. What do you mean about the valve cover? Looks pretty standard to me.

Hi, well the system was built by the Bogg Bros in the UK, and tuned by them as well, I have been driving it for some time now, and haven´t seen any changes in correct sync. As for driveability, it has significantly improved over those flattops. It idles vera nice at 900rpm, en pulls cleanly, on the stock engine it maxes out at 5500 rpm. Well, it was on the dyno with the stock setup, and it was producing 127hp at the backwheels. Mind you, this is a european 260z. After the mod, it was producing 155hp. As for torque, I honestly don´t know. The rest of the engine is fairly stock, and my exhaust system is still currently "crap". Mpg (or for me km/u) has improved. The boggs told me this would be more efficient when driving under normal conditions and it has. When hitting the gas however, it goes fast. I guess if I calculate it into Usa terms, I hit about 26mpg under normal driving.

hey guys, as I am a Belgian guy with a Z-car (very rare ) , I wanted to show you what has recently been done with my standard L26 original with the flattop system: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000088.jpg and the new system with 6 Yamaha R1 carbs with special manifold and airbox: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/DSC01922.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000664.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000666.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000662.jpg

hi, thx for the reply, i´ve uploaded some (bad) pics of my current setup. I dont really know what kind of mufflers are on there. http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/P1000699.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/P1000696.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/P1000697.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/P1000698.jpg
  15. thx man, I got it out !!! great forum here !
  16. Many Thx , ure a lifesaver ! Like we say in dutch: "bedankt" !
  17. Hey this is a picture of the entire door: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/P1000695.jpg
  18. Hey Escanlon Merci de repondre en francais, je sais que c´est pas facile By the way, I speak dutch, french is our second language. I have´t removed the crank mechanism yet, I just removed those two screws in the hope of solving the problem, but it didn´t. Well. in the haynes it said to first remove the front axle, which is the right one. The way you say it, to remove the guide channel in the middle first seems more logical. I´ll take another picture of the entire door itself. if possible, can you point out on the picture where I need to remove ? I must say that the layout of the door is a tad different than the layout in the Haynes.

I have done a few searches on this, but not yet found the right answer. I have a rvs exhaust system on my Datsun 260Z. It was done by the previous owner and has 2 mufflers. (middle and end). it starts with a 6-2-1 header (recently installed) to a flexible that goes to the middle muffler. It then goes to a bend and the rear muffler. I dislike the sound cause it sounds "metal-ish". I wouldnt be bad if it were a bit deeper and more sporty. (but still within bounds) Is the middle muffler necessary, performance wise? Will it affect the sound upon removal? A buddy of mine told me, if you just alter the end muffler, you will get the sound you need. If I can , Ill take a picture of the current setup. Regards Hendrik
  20. Hey I recently installed new fender mirrors, and had to remove the mirror on the drivers side. Got those mirrors from a guy in NY ^^ http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000690.jpg However, it seems that perticular bolt is very hard to get to, and will probably need removing the glass itself. heres what im talking about: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000689_1.jpg I can see that the glass itself is hooked onto 2 "hinges" http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000682_1.jpg And those are connected to 2 "slide axes" http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000686_1.jpg But how to removed those axes? In my book itself (Haynes), to just unscrew the bolts, and then you can slide it away underneath. I have tries this, but it gets stuck and i barely have enough room to get the slide ax to the bottom. I cant get the roller attached to the window out of the slide ax. this is a right picture of the door : http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000683_1.jpg and a bit more to the left: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000684_1.jpg If anyone can help me, please do. Sorry for the bad english terms, I am from Belgium
  21. Hey Thanks for the comments, I know from the previous owner, that the carbs were imported from the US. (those flat tops, so I guess the smog regulated stuff is on there).
  22. hello all, I am a fellow Belgian 260Z owner. My 260Z is overall in very good condition, it runs well at all speeds but I notice a large lag when revving at lower speeds. After browsing to these forums, I decided to ditch the Flat Top carbs and replace them with proper SU´s. Because my engine is fairly stock, I will not go for triple webers. - I will order the 260Z SU conversion kit from this guy: http://www.paltech1.com/ this is way cheaper than over here in Belgium. It would cost me over 900 dollars (euro). Any way, I would like to know what I can remove and where to put the cables after doing the conversion. I added a picture of my engine bay.
