Does anyone know this car owner
James Bond 007 That looks to be a 350Z dash and console transplant. Whoever built this car spent a lot of time and money on it and did a very good job.

What Tranny Fluid to Use?
According to my 1975 280z owners manual, the gear oil weight you specified is good for ambient temperatures from about -10 deg. F to 100 deg. F. It also specifies using 3 1/8 pints of oil. Hope this helps. thehelix, he stated: Also, I've heard good things about Redline products as well.

Need gas tank
I appologize in advance for posting this here, but this is time sensitive and I don't know if an entry in the classified section would show up on the front page or not. I'm looking for someone in the So. Cal. area who has a '77 - '78 gas tank for sale ASAP! The tank is for a good friend of mine here in Ventura, Ca. that has no access to the internet and needs a tank now. Any and all help is appreciated.

Don't let it bother you Dave. The guy probably thinks Dan Gurney invented beds with wheels and that a Stingray is a fish.

If feel this is the best place to learn all there is to know about the car of your dreams. :cheeky: Have patience and you'll be fine.

Seat mechanism covers
Man, I'm learning alot about metric fasteners here. I talked to a hardware salesman at Green Thumb. They have an extensive selection of metric screws and the closest he could find was what you found at Ace, M3, 4 or 6 mm long, 0.50 pitch. I think I'll pick up one of these to see how it fits, just for grins. I sure do want to include screws with these covers if for nothing else but convenience. I KNOW some people are going to need them.

Thanks Mike. I looked at your pic and I think your evaluation is right on target. I'll have to pull one of mine to see if it's the same. I appreciate all your help. Update: I pulled one off my 280z and it's almost the same as you described in your post (5mm head dia., 5mm long, thread size m3 [3mm dia.], 8 threads total=0.6 threads per mm [5mm divided by 8 threads=0.6]). Mike I found this at McMaster. It's the closest I could find to what I measured. What do you think?
