5 piece upholstery? Did you mean 5 piece carpet? Because normally upholstery refers to the 2 seats.
  2. A simple search on this club site turned up this: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18449&highlight=Fuel+Pressure+Regulator This thread is only a few days old. I can understand the need for conversation at times by not looking for answers yourself, but like the old saying goes, "God helps those who help themselves".
  3. Does that include shipping?
  4. The price you show is for the Illumina Series Shock kit. The kit prices include new springs. Miles bought the HP series shocks. The kit with HP shocks and springs would be the HPK Suspension Kit and sells for $395.52.

It's like Gav240z said, there is a section in the photo gallery assigned just to member's pictures. It's probably the best place to post them if you want people to be able to find them in the future, because in a few days this thread will be long gone and forgotten. Personally, I'd like to see a link on the home page, with the other photo links, that would take you directly to the mugshots. Mike, what do you think?

Aside from what's already been discussed (u-joints), the only other things that could cause the vibration would be a damaged shaft (essentially a piece of pipe), mud or debris stuck to it, or the paint slipping to one side causing it to be unbalanced.

Did you do a search here on the site first? Since you didn't fill in your location when you signed up with the club I'll assume you're in Bombay, India. So, no, I don't know of anyone close to where you are that can help you.

He's a Datsun parts guy at www.classicdatsun.com BTW, I found this information using a simple search function here on the site. You are free to do the same.
  9. Very good! Would it be possible to post your poem here on the club site? That is unless you want to copyright protect it.
  10. How's the ground? You just stripped and painted the whole car, so, maybe the antenna's not grounded properly.
  11. Don't forget to check EVERYTHING connected to the valve cover for vacuum tightness, including the oil fill cap and valve cover gasket. I know from personal experience that having the oil fill cap off will cause idling problems.
  12. Just out of curiousity, why are there black bars over the men's eyes in that photo? Were they afraid their wives might find out they were at a Z car presentation instead of a strip club?
  13. I can understand that the spoiler mounting configuration can vary by manufacturer, but if the shop producing the spoilers can't/won't manufacture them according to MSA specifications, they should provide the template(s) to mount their spoilers from. And drawing up a mounting template is childs play to anyone with cad experience. I produced templates for cutting MFD for a 8' X 6' desk without having a prototype or a finished model to work from. There's no excuse for the problems you encountered. So much for "Pride in Workmanship".

If I didn't know any better, I would think you were talking about neighborhood gang violence. The only difference is that the people in the dome actually SAY they saw these things happening. These things happen because the people around them ALLOW it to happen.

George, I believe you've hit the nail on the head. I wish you could send this to the "Hollywood" news and "disaster relief" shows who continue to pound the Prez as we speak. These influential people are so shortsighted that they can't see past their ratings.

I've had good luck with this. 1-area code-555-1212. Since you have the address, you will be able get their phone number this way, that is, if the number is listed.

Here's a tool someone sent me that seems pretty accurate: http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx It's based on ZIP codes, so it should work to check prices anywhere (worldwide?) If you have a pop-up blocker you might have to disable it for this to work.
  20. Hey Ian, some of the most beautiful women were gangly and homely when they were young. You appear to have made good progress on the body. Keep at it and she'll be a beauty when you're finished!

I know from personal experience that the u-joint on a 280z driveshaft is not replaceable in the conventional sense. It is pressed in at the factory and requires a press to replace it. When I ran into this problem, I bought a replacement driveshaft from MSA that comes with a replaceable u-joint. It worked very well, and I think I paid about $150 for it about 5 years ago. It did not come with bolts and nuts.I used a box end wrench to turn the nuts and a steel spike, about 16" long, through the opening in the u-joint, to secure it while turning the nut. Also, by having the rear end up on jack stands (a must for safety), I didn't have issues with the transmission fluid leaking out after I pulled the driveshaft. The most helpful thing I did for this procedure was to have patience. Good luck.

Nate, first off, I'd like to help you bring the balance back toward the center by saying that I concur with this statement as well as all that I've read in your posts in this thread. It smacks of the importance of taking personal responsibility for your well being. Too many people would rather take the "me too" approach and blame the head guy instead of getting all the facts, then ACTING on them. Recent estimates are saying 3 months just to pump out the city. And most homes, after being flooded for that long, will have to be bulldozed down and rebuilt. Can you say "stilts"?

You can also blame short sided economics. Pay now to prepare for the eventual superstorm, like the Netherlands have, or pay later in catastrophic losses. Everybody KNOWS this is Bush's fault. He had to know better. After all, he's got an MBA from Harvard! Maybe he slept through the meteorology class. Ya, that's it! That makes him the dumbest moron we ever "didn't" elect. It's GOTTA be HIS fault.
  24. It's an adjective masquerading as a noun. It's also the results of people who have been IM'ing (instant messaging) too much over a long period of time (until they need help). You know, the same type of people who think taking the time to fill in all their information when they sign up with the club, is a waste of time. Proof reading is forbidden or left for someone else to do for them. The really noticable ones don't even waste time with capitalization or punctuation. They must speak their whole day in one long, exhausting sentence, without ceasing to take a breath, and eventually pass out due to lack of oxygen. Do what I do when I come across one of these posts. I pass them by. P.S. Bill, this isn't aimed at you. Consider it a rant.
  25. It's been a long time since I had my '78 280z, but I recall when I replaced the antenna in it I had to take the fiberboard deck out to remove the panel. Try that. But like I said, it's been many years, and my brain leaks too.
