Front Spoilers
I have a fibresports front spoiler as well. got it a few weeks ago and have yet to fit it. Quality seems reasonable and everything lines up ok thus far. I bought it because I couldnt find any other style! I also purchased it for 150 dollars from a wholesaler. What sort of bracing do these spoilers need brett240?

Donnie Darko
Ive seen it about 3 times... It still manages to pack out cinemas many months after its limited release. I thought it was a brilliant movie, however the more i watch it the more i overthink things... so now it is just a "very good" movie. The website spoils some of the magic of the film by explaining everything in detail. I would have preferred a more open interpretation. Great soundtrack , great acting, and lots of little details everywhere... *e.g next time you watch the movie, look carefully at the Jim Cunningham Promotional Tv spots, and you'll see his *cough* hobby manifest itself in subtle hugs and bumpats on the children.

The Datsuns: The band
my friend actually did some groupie work for the dattos just recently when they toured australia. I was meant to too, but decided to drink beer instead. I believe they originally came from New Zealand, and seem to be doing quite well of late. (just like the other "rock n roll" resurgence bands, the strokes, hives, vines, D4 etc) edit: , did i say groupie??? I meant 'roadie'.

Bought a 240z today, Perth WA.
goddamit.. anyone know if this pedestrian law applies to vehicles pre ADR? i.e before 1972 and without compliance plates. [most of the literature i read on the dotars and rta sites, are very scarce about pre adr vehicle rules.... occasionally they will give you a bit of leeway, and occasionally not...its all very vague] I have one original old datsun sports fender mirror sitting out the back waiting to be mounted one day.

Bought a 240z today, Perth WA.
hmm interesting... my aus delivered Z was made 11/71 HS30-1461 (if my rusty memory serves me correctly) as far as front airdams go, I finally found a place in sydney with reasonable prices. It pretty much looks like every other aftermarket front airdam you can see in australia (ive never seen anything that was different unless it was custom). [ should be a few in the gallery- has 2 slits along the floor edge]. 200 dollars through a wholesaler. I can hook you up with the contacts if needed. (usually costs a few hundred more). http://www.fibresports.com.au/Datsun%20Kits.htm Disregard the other horribly ugly bits of the bodykit. The front bar itself isnt too bad. I ordered mine yesterday and should pick it up by friday.

Mikuni/ keihin carbs on L6?
ahh..no wonder it didnt turn up in my search. wow, those pics certainly look the goods. any idea on how driveable they are? or is it all mid-top end. I would be very interested in following this path, but seeing as there is next to no information out there...will probably have to go speak to some experts who have done the FCR conversion onto other 4 cylinder engines like 4age and mx5. Alan, if you had any links to those japanese companies that would be great! Cheers.

Mikuni/ keihin carbs on L6?
Not sure on the theory behind this but: Anyone ever tried fitting Flat slide throttle motorcycle carbs to the L6's before? im talking about the mikuni and keihin ones... Problems i can see are...powerband would be too high, and finding the right size carbs for our use? I know this sort of conversion is very popular on the 4age toyota 4 cylinders due to their instant throttle response, and very high flow. Top end power is generally comparable to a highly tuned FI system. Cost of these carbs is relatively cheap from what ive seen too!

spirit garage s30Z racecar
Yes, I have those episodes where Keichi and Hattori race in the lotus elise one off series... it was a very close and exciting race(rubbing racing at it's finest!). In any case, I am sure this Z episode will come out on the International Best Motoring volumes DVD later on... You can purchase them pretty much in any country. (through autospeed in australia) with the added bonus that you will understand what they are really talking about!- also lots of other excellent footage about the new 350z. *all my videos and vcd's are in japanese!

spirit garage s30Z racecar
oops! I totally didnt even think about that side of things.. I understand where you are coming from HS30, and it would be a shame if people were to abuse this system. I was basically cheering in my armchair when i watched these pieces of footage (the elation and joy in the drivers voice during the drive are very apparent- as though they are piloting a sacred car through a once in a lifetime opportunity). I would indeed still love to share this footage in some way with any members of this forum, as im sure you will all appreciate it for what it is. cheers, *my apologies to 2&4 motoring co. ltd.. p.s on which editions did you work with them Alan?
