Thanks for sharing guys. Several of the parts I bought from this guy seem to be from the Japan only market.

This appears to be a Japanese market header...Datsun Spirit uses it on his 240Z and offers it as part of their exhaust system on datsunspirit.com. It is also discussed on hybridZ in the N/A 400hp Japanese L6 thread.

I don't have that book but, I've seen the picture in there of the "Cyclone" header...mine's not the same as that one...if that's what you're referring to. Is there another header in there besides that one that you're talking about?

So, how did it go? It's been a while so hopefully you were able to get it resolved. I have several wavies in my roof and I'm hoping the paintless guy will be able to do the trick.

It appears the rust problem isn't all from the water that drains from the top. The panels that I've seen, have mostly rusted from underneath. Moisture gets trapped between the top panel and tail light panel and rusts from the bottom. If this area isn't protected, it'll rust out again. Of course, most anyhting we do is better than what the factory did...plus the fact that many of these cars are stored inside and never driven in the rain helps!

Mike, not too much information at all! That's the kind of description I was looking for. I appreciate the time and thought you put into this and this may be the very product I end up using. It and the nozzle is what I had in mind but had not read any opinions on it so, I wasn't sure if it was any good. I am POR15ing some areas and what I can't get at with it will get this sort of treatment...namely inside the frame rails. Thanks for sharing. Joe

Thanks, Carl...I'm going back to pull the diff out of the car so I'll be sure to get the hardware. Is there anything else I should get off the car for the swap? This is the same car I got my 5 speed from.

On my 72 240Z, I'm installing an R200 diff from an 82 ZX. Will the hardware (mustache bar, etc) needed from a 280Z work from a 77 auto since it has an R180? Thanks!

I'm planning to spray inside my frame rails also. What type of wand setup are you using? What are you spraying in there? Thanks, Joe

Oh OK. I understood there to be a difference in length between the r180 and r200 halfies. That makes it easier then. Thanks again.

Installed the replacement panel with 3m panel adhesive...worked great and solid as a rock. And water can't get to it at all...serves as it own seem sealer.

Agreed...it's a puzzle trying to figure what was done and why sometimes. Knowing the rule of thumb that 280z halfshafts are shorter because of the wider r200 diff... I need a set and have sourced some from a "stock" 77 auto. Just wanted to be sure they are the longer ones I need since it's an r180 as well. I'll just need to be sure they are four bolt flange style like mine...not the splined ones. Thanks for the help, John. Joe

Does anyone know if the halfshafts from a 77 280z automatic (which is supposed to have an r180 diff) will drop straight in to my 72 240z? Thanks
