is this fuel injected or carburated. had the same issue recently with mine. the result was no fuel, aka bad injecter.

thats what im trying to figure out.. as of right now it looks like someone went in there and bent them to close together.. so im going to clean them and bend them back to somewhat normal by looking at reletive pictures.. and if i still cant get it to work correctly, ill get a new one for 60 bucks.

ok perfect thanks. ive been trying to adjust the points on my tps. as it sat before i messed with it. the idle would stay connected probably until 2500 rpms and then right after it would connect to the WOT contact. as you might imagine, my car was running like crap. so thanks for the info!

sorry to revive a 3 year old post. but i have a question about this subject, and thought id ask it here instead of starting a new thread. as stated the idle point should disconnect at any throttle movement above idle. now my question is when should the WOT point connect? should it connect litterally only when the trottle is slammed to the floor? or should it connect a little before then? or should it connect the second the tps moves into stage 3? (1 being idle 2 being coast and 3 being anything above that)

78 280Z Fuel Issue?
on the head gasket note. check the oil, see if there is any milkey white stuff or water in it. as for the fuel. check the fuel pressure regulater on the fuel rail, check for any leaks or cracked hoses. if you have checked all of this and it still acts as if there is no fuel, check the fuel pressure, should be at like 32 or around there. then check the tank to be glogged or anything.. let us know what happens.

Marco, first search for forums for solutions, then if that doesnt help after a thurough search, make your own post, this thread has to do with starters making noise not changing a starter and now not starting.

YEP! i forgot the power draw, so if you think about it, you get rid of the drag from the clutch manual fan, add a electric fan, its going to cause drag by the alt whether it may be less then the belt driven one or not, its still not worth it! im in phoenix, and ive been told by lots of people to not go electric because it wont cool as well.

only thing an electric fan will do is give you a tad bit more HP, if any noticible at all.. and its a lot of work.. so its not really even worth it.

check it by having the engine off and hot and free spin the fan. see if you can feel any resistance.

definitely seems like fan clutch. fan is spinning, but possibly not fast enough.

i was thinking the same thing gunny. i have a single 2.25 inch piping through a cat, and a glas pack at the very end and mine sounds decent but it really sounds amazing at its high RPM range.

if you search you will find several posts on this forum that talk about this. you can have the gas tank flushed out and lined, you can find a used gas tank and flush it out and re-use it. you can buy a new one. lots of things you can do.

what year is your Z and the Z the tranny came out of? im sure you can get the correct spedo gear and cable from a website and have it shipped.

Thank God I got it!!!
i have FI so its different, but i just want to point out that i had a huge fuel smell also. and could not for the life of me find the leak. it was on the fuel rail. one of the hose clamps were lose and fuel would come out and puddle on my heat sheild.. and the only reason i found this out was i had my gf turn on the key while i looked at the engine, and when the fuel pump kicked on i saw it barely drizzle out like it was very small, but because it puddled i got the bad smell.
