  1. ive always been scared to buy a new car for that reason... i like buying used cars with like 20k miles on them because then someone broke it in and if it had any issues they would of been recorded..
  2. Ya, i can see AC no problem, but heat thats a different story. Also the sound of my Z is just something id miss to much. warming it up in the morning and hearing it rev up is music to my ears.
  3. more silent gives you more room for loud music! i wonder how they implament air conditioning and heating into electric cars, or if it is possible. since this one is more of a race car i doubt the thought even crossed his mind.
  4. maybe it got stuck?
  5. that is just amazing. that makes me want to electrify my datsun. im not a big enviormentalist, but id love to have a car like that anyday. and i really wonder how long it takes to charge it when its dead and how long you can drive it before it dies depending on how you drive it. also i wonder how much it would cost to convert a car like that.
  6. Ok so back on topic for me. has anyone seen a electric datsun like this in person? because id LOVE to see how they did all this. and id love to see how the motor fits and looks. also how clean it could be or how cluttered with wires. what would also be cool is seeing a 240,260,280 have a electric conversion and dragin on the tracks! or even a road course
  7. i like the duel white stripes on SOME base colors. but that to me is ugly.
  8. you know id listen to every single one of those songs in the poll while driving they are all great driving songs.
  9. dead bodies everywhere - Korn, is one of my favorites. makes me think im in a zombie filled city trying to survive while driving on the freeway or at high speeds. its definitely something id blare while racing on the track if i could
  10. this is true. its fun to think of what will be next to replace gas cars. hydro cars? nuclear powered cars? who knows
  11. it seems that electric cars might be something of the future. which will be weird. they will be super quiet, powerfully, the only thing is if they can get them to drive longer on a charge, or replace gas stations with charge stations and have it charge quicker then over night for long trips.(probably never happen since the oil industry controls everything) but would be cool to have one day i guess.

    welcome
  13. constant power non stop.
  14. worst car ive EVER had was a 97 ford contour. that thing drove like a boat. not only did i pay a 300 dollar down payment after test driving it for an hour.. (this was used by the way with 97k miles) i took it home on a 20 mile trip in california. The thing started running real rough, check engine light came on and the scanner said it had a miss and was running rich. a few days later the transmission started shifting hard, and the torque converter started unlocking and locking. i tried taking it back to the dealer but i made the mistake buying it "as is" and they wouldnt do anything about it. 1 week later the tranny started leaking fluid out of the side maintenance panel. replaced the gasket, and it stopped leaking.. but the tranny got worse and started slipping and grinding. the worst part about this tranny is that to even do a fluid flush you have to take the tranny out of the car and pull it apart in 2 pieces. there is no tranny pan. the pan is in the middle of the tranny. most retarded design ever. so after 2 weeks of having it i parked it on the street, and left the key on the seat and told the bank where to get it and the situation. they ended up dropping the loan in my favor and its not on my credit (thankfully) worst car out of the 25 ive owned.
  15. ah i see! do they sell adjustable pressure electric fuel pumps? or would you have to buy a electrical one, and then install a adjustable fuel pressure regulator? if that rout would work, would it be plausible to install a FI 280z's fuel pump and buy a aftermarket adjustable pressure regulator for the carbs? that way you can raise it and lower it when needed? just a thought i had.
  16. why a mechanical fuel pump? why not a electric one?
  17. i didnt mean to scare anyone with my lack of knowledge. i just wanted to know for my personal sake. if it wasnt simple as it seems im sure someone would of said so.
  18. wire it back to the way it was with a toggle switch. it wont be hard to do at all, and if it were my Z id perfer it to be that way. also id do what these fellas say and check battery and connection issues, because the problem you describe usually means the battery doesnt have enough CCA to crank the starter if anything else is on (radio blower motor, antennae)
  19. id go that rout, but how does that work if he's carburated, does he have a stand alone ignition system, for the module, or will he not even need the module. or do these have the ignition module like the fuel injected systems that he can just bypass and use the zx module?
  20. ya i really want to know how it effects your performance and normal driving, accelerating and so on!
  21. if you have the same problem, do all of the trouble shooting steps as first listed here. and make sure you check the timing the right way, if you half arse it, it is easy to miss that its wrong.
  22. if your harmonic ballancer showed the mark at the right timing degree, and your rotor in your dizzy was showing on #1 spark plug wire, then use that as a reference when putting the oil pump rod back in. keep taking it out and putting it in until you get the dizzy to say #1 again. if not you will have to put it all together, time it with a timing light and if you cant get that mark to show up on the pulley, your one or more teeth off.
  23. im not looking to buy a euro dizzy, i want to curve my electronic dizzy to the specs of a euro dizzy for a more aggressive advance.
  24. ok i see. thanks for sharing that. i think ill get mine done when kenobi comes to let us know how it worked out for him.
  25. Tlorber, is this something to consider on the 78's dizzy as its electronic and not point system?
